Look who's riding Buzz tomorrow. Currently 4/1. Must have an outstanding chance back on his favourite track

I see he is back up in trip. Will be interesting to see if he needs the extra 2f or whether the trainer is trying to get his handicap down

SDS's agent is only seeking potential winning rides for him with the title for leading jockey being taken seriously, so Hide must have made them aware Buzz has a decent chance when Silvestre's agent contacted him.

Here’s the question of the day, pilgrims. Why has Dicky Hannon Junior ‘gone all Colin Tizzard’ and is trying to convince everyone that where Barney Roy (not named after me, incidentally) runs next will be up to him?!? It won’t be nor at any time was it ever going to be, Dicky Junior. I really can’t understand some of these trainers – who are they trying to hoodwink with these antics?!?

Most interesting runner of the day has to be Mobait in the ‘lucky last’ at Cheppers (9.10) – cor blimey that’s a late kick off time for a simple country boy such as my good self. He won 4 out of 7 over hurdles for Mr Nicholls (last run off 135 in that sphere) before a couple of disastrous efforts over the big ‘uns. Back on the level for the first time in 2 years (won 3 flat races in France) a perch of 75 looks more than fair. Should go close providing those runs over fences haven’t soured the old boy.

    Good luck me old loves.

I reckon if Hannon had his way the horse would be headed to Goodwood for the Sussex Stakes but the boys in blue will not have him taking on Ribchester surely. (not read Hannons comments btw)

In view of the current political climate do you think Go-Dolphin will have any runners at ‘Glorious’ Goodwood though (meeting sponsored big time by Qatar)??? ‘The Guardian’ newspaper, incidentally, are seemingly obsessed by this question and are asking it every other day at the moment.

Gulf of Poets aiming to become a five-timer - and it would be five out of five for 2017.

Despite the big penalty following the win at Haydock, his last time out on soft ground at Hamilton showed that he has plenty class to handle it. This should be a straight shootout between him and Weekend Offender and I find it hard not to back a horse that's won when I've backed it more than once.

I've taken Gulf of Poets and Wordsearch on a double backed up by singles today.

    Probably a kiss of death.

Hard to believe I know but I actually backed the winner in the last at Windsor yesterday evening which gave me a free dart at this race. Weekend Offender was obvious but too short. I thought Gulf Of Poets was probably going to be handicapped out of winning again. I liked Highland Colori for a place but the free bet ended up on NICOLAS T who is another enjoying an upward curve. Its a nice little race, good luck with yours.

2nd. Just seemed to plod on although jockey accepted defeat some way out. Looked a bit lively early on, possibly lit up by his stumble. Difficult to assess whether or not he was suited by the extra 2f. Seems to take a long time to wind up, lacking acceleration. Odd because the first thing I noticed in his first/second race was his burst of acceleration

Wow what a start for Olly Murphy in his training with a winner from his first runner.
I wouldnt be surprised if he isnt 2 from 2 after VARENE DE VAUZELLE runs at Stratford this evening!

    NON RUNNER

Barney Roy could still head for the Sussex Stakes even if he runs on Saturday, depending on how he recovers from his exertions.

If Ribchester would prefer some juice in the ground (as seems to be the consensus opinion) he could go to France.

Granted the Maktoums are the ruling family of Dubai but I think that they keep the Middle East politics out of their racing otherwise they would have to duck the Arc meeting and half a dozen other things that the Qataris sponsor. As Qatar sponsor Al-Jazeera, it might not be the best place to look for impartial coverage.

Dermot Welds horses are not running well at the moment so happy to take the jolly on in the lucky last at Gowran with Pearl of the West 11/4 win.
