He's more likely to stick him in a brown envelope and use him as a down payment on something.

What a very simplistic way of looking at things. I assume football form counts for nothing in Big Baz's world. Sometimes when a team is in a sorry state, a managerial change does not arrest the slide immediately. However if you give the manager enough time he turns it around. Particularly if you give them a window to get their players. Allardyce is a good example of that I think so thanks for bringing him up for comparison.

I'm not sure but I think in his first in 11 games as Sunderland manager he amassed only 9 points from a possible 33. Relegation form of course. However with a window and more time he managed to turn it around.

Indeed a further example can be found at Palace last season. He amassed only 4 points from a possible 24 points in his first 8 games. Again certain relegation form. However a window and time brought more opportunity.

So if we look at Rafa's 10 game reign - he amassed only 1 point from a possible 12 in his first four games. Relegation form. He then amassed 12 points from a possible 18 in the 6 games which followed. This despite having no window to buy his own players, relying solely on managerial acumen. 13 points from a possible 30. Roughly translates to 1.3 points a game. This would garner 49 points over the course of a season. 11th just behind Chelsea I think that season.

So I'm very sorry to burst another Mackem myth but its comparing apples and oranges comparing Allardyce and Rafa that season. Allardyce at both Sunderland and Palace failed to amass as many points as Rafa did at Newcastle in his first 10 games.

I do agree he is fairly negative however.

Ask most people who had the better team out of Sunderland, Newcastle and palace. Most people would say Newcastle. You can bang on about stats all you want.

Rafa took you down and that's a fact.

Anyone with half a football brain knows that isn't the case and can see the bigger picture. That is why the consensus among football pundits is that he has enhanced his reputation during his time with us.

Nope it isn't a fact. Newcastle had two managers that season. Therefore it would be factual to suggest both managers played a part in the relegation. One contributed 13 points from a possible 30, the other 24 points from a possible 84. One of those is relegation form. The other is not. I'm not convinced people would suggest Newcastle had the better team. We may have spent more money, but most people thought we bought crap.

I think you are forgetting the Palace team contained the likes of Cabaye, Benteke, Sakho, Flamini, Townsend, Zaha, Remy, Dann, Ledley, Souare, Mandanda, Milojevic, Puncheon, McArthur, Ledley, Schulpp, Van Aarnholt, Tomkins - I think most people would pick that over our side every day of the week <laugh>

    Another myth busted.

You love the would myth don't you little man. It is close between that palace and Newcastle teams tho. I think you would agree Sunderland was the worst but ended up staying up.

He bools on gives some ****.. takes it... then bools off until the next time.
    That's how it should be.
No leaving threads, offers of fights outside Maccy D's... just plain old fashioned piss taking.
