We have this discussion every transfer window, even had a vote(!) on it last time around purely for that reason, it was decided pretty much anything could be posted rather than keep it purely transfer specific meaning 5 pages of bollocks on Lambert is fine as is 5 pages of transfer rumour bollocks. There will be threads on individual players if they gain enough traction so just stick to them as much as I agree with you.
Have to agree. I am 7hrs behind you guys over there. It is kind of annoying, having to wade through a lot of non topic stuff, when I wake up each day. Just my perspective on the subject.
Guys come on ........I know Rickie was a legend but discussing him on the transfer thread is a bit of takin the p*** a bit. Some just don't have the time to go through pages and pages to find that in fact there is no news, just a discussion. I'm as guilty as the next for jumping in with a bit of nostalgia but can understand how it can frustrate if it went on for 4/5 pages or so. So do try and lets keep on the subject of the original poster.......Pretty please..........................
I can see both sides of this. It may be that people have to accept this thread often detours. As others have said, if a signing looks imminent (and sometimes even if doesn't) there'll be a "Saint...." thread created.
I hold my hand up for daring to talk about Rickie, which came as a natural consequence of talking about how good Jay and Rickie were together. This is the nature of forums like this I'm afraid. No apologies from me... Edit: I will do my best to stay on topic though.
Well I was taking the Celtic rumours with a pinch of salt but the Stuart Armstrong story seems to be gathering a little pace. Would fit your description perfectly. 15 goals and 7 assists last season. Mods: Feel free to move if posted on wrong thread.... ;-)
I think there were enough hints from other posters that the thread needed to get back on topic. Unfortunately despite their best efforts it was dragged back off. I am fortunate enough to be able to check the thread often so just scroll over the off topic posts but I agree that if you can't do this all this other stuff is a pain in the arse. I thought the vote last year was for all rumours irrespective of source not that we can talk about any crap we want which has nothing to do with transfers.
The few times I have watched Celtic or Scotland Armstrong has always stood out to me as too good for the level he is at. Whether he is god enough for the PL I don't know but wouldn't be unhappy with the signing
Get the feeling a bigger club than us will be in for him, though perhaps he wants to use us as a stepping stone
