It must be that time of the week, as we're being linked with another Argentine prospect, this time Independiente's 18-year old attacking midfielder Ezequiel Barco...

I would LOVE us to have a player called Ezequiel.

Victor, Vincent, Tobias, Hugo, Ezequiel. All we need is an Ebeneezer and a Horatio and we're good to go.

We already had one Ezequiel, although he wasn't particularly good...

If anyone wants to be overly literal, then we technically didn't. We had an Ezekiel.
Went with the original Hebrew spelling, for some reason. Even more old school.

Good news, everyone! We won't be linked with Jay Rodriguez for another six months!

Pulis likes his large, injury-prone, never as good as everyone made them to be strikers in the £12m range, doesn't he?

The Portuguese press continue to link us to Adrien Silva. I can't make up my mind whether we might go for a player who could help us to control games in Europe a bit better, even though he's 28 and £20m+.

Alternatively, we're just being used to increase the price for Leicester, who have a real hard-on for this bloke and have lots of Thai money to spend on overpriced players that aren't going to get them back into Europe, unless there's a war.

Another random link, Lazio winger Keita Balde...who sounds uncannily like Nacer Chadli, i.e. he'd be great in a fantasy football team as he chips in with a fair number of goals from midfield, but in reality he's a total passenger when we don't have the ball.

Given the quoted fee is £25m, I think we can pass on him.

The next four lines of the song are
All over people changing their votes
    along with their overcoats
If Adolf Hitler flew in today
    they'd send a limousine anyway

Joe Strummer wrote those lines in 1978, almost 40 years ago but they could've been written yesterday as they are still sadly as relevant today :(

Silent as the grave on here.

Anyone else getting a little bit nervous about the resounding lack of activity in both directions? The fact that Sissoko is still at the club is greatly unsettling - to the point where I'm struggling to sleep at night.

A beautiful thing. I read an interview with Mick Jones where he said that was his favourite track. He recalled being in a pub in Liverpool where the entire clientele sang it from start to finish, like it was a hymn or a national anthem.

I drink in a pub where that still happens. Put on The Clash, Pistols, Damned, Ruts, etc and the rest of the pub joins in and they turn the volume up. I don't know what I'll do when there aren't enough of us left.

Looks like Matthias Ginter has decided to stay in the Bundesliga, with Kicker reporting he's agreed terms with A German Team, meaning it's time for the ITKs to Twitter stalk Joel Veltman...

Meanwhile, in outgoing news, AaB's sporting director Alan Gaarde is refusing to confirm or deny that they will be signing Filip Lesniak, even though Lesniak himself has said he's joining AaB.

I see that Sandro Ramirez has gone to Everton. Surely at 5.2 million we should have been in for him. We've been linked to him for some time.

Less than 6 weeks til season start, and no definitive reports
as to whether all of the walking wounded will be senior squad ready
by then. No left side defensive cover, nor cover for Dembele.

Not looking good at the moment for starting next season where the last
    finished off. :(
