Gone for a mix of O'Briens string in first 5 races. No runner in second Bond Street Cenotaph Johannes Vermeer Butterscotch
With the withdrawal of Jeremy's Girl I have gone for Sometimesadiamond at 9/1 in the Grangecon stud stakes at 3:45. Made a pleasing start winning on debut and can improve upon that with a group 3 win today. The price difference between herself and Butterscotch is way off the mark.
Cartmel 220 POETIC PRESENCE now 7s but I did take 12s early doors so the signs are there for a good run. Win
Cartmel 355 endeavour looks big at 7/2 and should get the better of the fav again 535 back to balloo 11/4
Quite possibly the worst two selections that I, or anyone else for that matter, have ever put up on this forum!
Bad day at Ballydoyle - SOMEHOW put down after fracturing her leg on the gallops, WINGS OF EAGLES retired due to fractured sesamoid and MINDING looking like she won't be fit enough to resume training for another month.
In a couple of years’ time, father Pour Moi and son Wings Of Eagles will both be knocking out slow old plodders for the winter game. Which one will be first to sire a Triumph Hurdle winner? If reports on At The Races and Sporting Life are accurate, we may not see Minding again either. DK should be along soon to remind us that he said Wings Of Eagles would not be winning another race...
What is Charlie Appleby playing at running Hawkbill at 1m4 again? If he stayed he would have won the Coronation. Surely today will put an end to that experiment, would have run a big race in the Eclipse.
In the absence of an actual argument, DK quotes my previous comments in a desperate attempt to start an argument in an empty room where he is guaranteed to come second. Pour Moi never ran again after Epsom, which is an indisputable fact. His son, Wings Of Eagles, did run again – in the Irish Derby, where he fractured his front left sesamoid and was beaten only a neck and a short head. Sadly that injury means that he cannot continue to race (something that we all want to see horses do). So the original comparison was completely pointless because one of them did run again and was unfortunately injured in doing so. Presumably the argument now is that the offspring of Pour Moi are so infirm that they do not stand up to any racing...
POUR MOI has already switched codes, having started at a high of €20,000 at the main stud, he fell to €10,000 last year and this year was switched to Grange Stud (one of Coolmore's NH studs) at a "private" fee. Most of the boys there stand at €5,000 or under.
I dont need an argument QM, I was right, Wings Of Eagles didnt win another race, 1/2 shot landed. 'where he fractured his front left sesamoid and was beaten only a neck and a short head.' sure would have won half the track presumably without the fracture
