5.15 Musselburgh Ya Boy Sir 22/1 I’ll have on last play on this Ian Semple trained 4 year old. 2 starts back Ya Boy Sir ran here at Musselburgh when he was a very fast finishing 4th over 5f in what I think turned out to be a failed touch by the yard. A young claimer was declared on board before he was "unable" to ride and was replaced by the stable’s preferred pilot Duran Fentiman, who is on board today, took over near enough to the race. Furthermore, Ya Boy Sir was 5lb out of the handicap that day. LTO Ya Boy Sir missed the break and raced on the wrong side at Ayr and I am willing to forgive this run as a result. Today, Ya Boy Sir steps up to 7f for only the 3rd time in his career since his 2 year old campaign. Although there are definite doubts, I think at the price he warrants a bet. He has won here at Musselburgh and his recent effort 2 starts back was at the track clearly demonstrates he acts well on the track. The soft ground should play perfectly to his strengths and based on his form of last year, he looks very well handicapped on his form last year as he is fully 12lb than his last winning mark. Semple is in good form at the moment and although he has another runner that is a shorter price in the market I am willing to take one final chance for him to show if he retains his ability.
