Im assuming it means the Chinese will be appointing their own board members shortly, weve been told if a deal does happen the key people such as Les/Ralph will remain in position but that the new owners will have board members. If no deal was reached I wouldn't expect a drastic change such as Kat leaving the board to occur.
Thats looks just about done apart from the announcement KL has stepped down as a director (but allegedly remaining a shareholder of circa 20%) but the rest of the board appear to be remaining in place. Assume our new Chinese owners will appoint a few directors of their own to sit on the board but RK looks like he will remain as Chairman Oh well the Saints Roller Coaster is off and running again.... best of luck to us all!
I presume that putting Kat-favoured directors on the board means that our present path is maintained until new board members are brought in and eventually out-vote them. Hopefully, it prevents the new owners making rash decisions before they know the lay of the land. In the end though, it depends on trusting the new owners to do what they have promised.
You've got to follow the money, as they say on The Wire. St Mary's Football group is the company which owns Southampton football club and it's subsidiaries. According to the companies house website. Kat is still a director of that company and I would expect her to remain there whilst she maintains a stake in the club. This director change is just removing Kat from the day to day operating of the club. The football board as they call it.
You have my sympathy, so do I....but it is obvious that Katharina wants to move on...albeit reluctantly. Have to hope that these are the best of the bunch.
Nothing has majorly changed at the parent company. The people on the board have been so for a considerable time. Just a little flurry of activity at the end of June. A shuffling of chairs, figuratively speaking,at the moment. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The three people on the Holdings board are Kat, Ralph & Tim Greenwell who is a legal director. If you subscribe to The Lawyer then you can read about his thoughts on a legal directors role at a football club here https://www.thelawyer.com/issues/5-december-2016/tim-greenwell-defending-southampton-fc/
All as clear as mud. Yet again. I still harbour serious doubts about this happening at all. Nothing takes this long when both parties are agreed. Nothing.
And the longer it takes the more worried I get about who is buying us. How many sofas do you need to check for change before buying a football club? ML had the process completed in around a fortnight. Obviously I hope that I am so very wrong that I become an object of ridicule but please do point me towards any other takeover that's taken this long, in any area.

No one knows how long any take over has taken, just chill, the longer Kat has control the better in my view.
