Its a discussion on evil mate, no need to take it down sinister paths You will agree Isis are in the same category today as Nazis in the minds of most people. So the epitome of evil
What do you want me to say? What you said was a bold faced lie. I am not going to try to turn you from your religion. Nor do I think i could even if i had a mind to. Fyi i dont think you are a terrorist sympathizer btw, but a sentence starting with "ISIS are wrong but...." and then listing the injustices done to the Middle East by the West (of which there are plenty) will be seen by some as terrorist apologism. Just a warning
Which bit was a lie? The whole controlling of the masses using religion by the rich? Seriously if you believe that have a word And the Isis bit was in context of a conversation about evil thought you were just being dramatic over serious. But will heed advice
Sorry the argument should be two fold: 1. No one knows how many have died under isis and how many have died under bombing from the west to 'free' people from isis directly or indirectly from each others actions. 2. Do you agree or disagree that isis needs to be destroyed (might not be the right word for you) but i dont see any view where what they are doing is correct (subjugating and torturing people from the lands they have taken). 3. My point about bombs and people under slavery was that unless there was a magic button so we could get rid of isis but not hurt civilians or if you were a soldier of isis, i would speculate that the masses of people (it could be propaganda but i take the view that most people who were invaded are against isis), then the large populations where isis occupy are more than happy for the west to liberate them even if it meant missiles dropping on then than it is to live a life of being tortured, enslaved raped etc etc. Kind of life what happened in world war 2 like Feel free to disagree with any of this although this has side tracked from our original point of there being so much uncessary death and suffering from many innocents which is being laid down at humanity as a whole ans their actions according to your religious thinking. I disagree that god has built a world where we are all being punished from the actions of the few/many (depending on your perspective) and if he did then i shudder to think of what god he is.
The conversation was about what you said about innocents dying for the actions of others and that being unacceptable for you and thus why you can't believe in God I was saying in reality this happens religion or no religion. By that token you can't agree with one side or the other in the current conflict, yet you clearly say that the reward of freedom is worth it Bit like religion that tbh
Theres a difference. If i had the power i would get rid of what is truly evil and for the want of free will i would limit on people. In a way we do that now which i why we have laws in our lands rather than letting anyone do exactly what they want. It is precisely because of things like war where innocent people are caught up by special interest groups (isis, iraq war etc ), natura disasters, disabilities , mindless murders that i cannot believe that a loving god made us. If he was so powerful or if he could see what we would be like in the future, how could he go ahead and create us like this hence i do not believe in a god. If i knew my unborn child was going to be born with no brain and no muscles and live a life of suffering i would choose not to have it born. Likewise if i knew he was going to grow up to be a serial killer then i would choose not to have it born.
I see that as true oppression and pointless tbh And ibam glad I didn't listen to the "experts" or make choice against my religious beliefs when it came to my lad who is nearly a teen but I had 3 experts say he would have no quality of life. My God said even 1 day is better than what the experts said and I have enjoyed 13 years and am watching him bopping to the ice cream vans music There is a verse or two which says do not kill your children as Allah is one who provides and he does not burden a soul with more than what it can bare. In simple terms we turn away from God, say we dont believe in him yet still blame him. With respect I don't get how you can't believe in a God that allows all that IS happening yet live with all that is happening. Never made sense to me to remain as I am in that scenario, either I would be in the middle of nowhere isolated or hanging from rope as what's the point?
Im not necessarily saying the experts are right but if i knew 100% that my child was going to live with pain (down syndrome, missing limbs is not living in pain) or if they were 100% going to be a evil murderer (kill because they enjoy it) as god would know then i would not have my child. As for life that is correct, i do not think there is any point to human life and i dont think there is an aim to us or that we have a particular reason for being what we are. That doesnt mean i dont want to live my life to its fullest or that i want to lop myself. I understand there are good people and bad people, good actions and bad actions. Some people i can hopefully be a good friend or be kind and therefore teach good actions. As long as i live as happy as i can be without deliberately sabotaging others then i will be fine
Yeah i did think about that one haha. It was an example rather than a scientific approach. Oh F is for family is a good recommendation. Cheers for that
I find the middle paragraph a bit sad tbh but see the last one pretty much what religion says, its the purpose of life if you will. Living in pain is one of those things that I don't agree with since I had my lad tbh. his condition means he fractures but he has an in built tolerance and even as a toddler was pretty much " broke leg hospital time " where as adults would be screaming. I also have a relative who has a kid who is 30, never walked or even sat up. Never talked. Just cries and laughs. I spent a month near him and he is a star. Once you get over feeling sorry for him you know he is happy and learn to communicate with him. The sympathy you show him early on, you soon feel its ignorant
Well fortunately i won't 100% know if someone is going to be 100% suffering or a killer. Miscarriages are natures way of weeding out unviable and for a harsh word defective humans (although miscarriages are sad, been affected in my family) I would like to think that my living a life of good deeds would stand me in good stead with a god if there is one even if i didnt worship him per se as per theists. Im not sad that i dont believe in anything and think the world is just what it is. As long as I'm pretty happy which i am then surely that is what matters?
I disagree with a lot of that tbh. I have a background in health and development and your comments on miscarriages are not necessarily true. Miscarriage of a diagnosed "defective" human being (to use your word) are as much about the stress on the mother once she is informed than anything else. There are many other factors which people don't want to accept including promiscuity, abortions, STDs etc as well as bad medical practice or lack of. What is accepted is often not as it seems. For example the whole cousins and marriage = more chance of disability study found that the fact the women in the studies didn't have access to medical care as youngsters (eg rubella vaccine etc) is most likely to be the reason than bring cousins. This includes the country of origin where defective, out of date medecines are given by pharmaceuticals I digress but you get the point hopefully
All in all, it seems like a ridiculous position for am almighty creator. I made you, and I'm going to test you to see if you believe that, and if you don't believe it, you get an eternity of torment, no matter how good a life you lived.
Yup, when you say it like that, you realise how ****ing ridiculous it is. Gonna link one of my favourite videos again.....
If there is a god, there is absolutely no doubt he is not the one represented in the mainstream religious books.
