I love watching him play, so a shame in some senses he won't be on the pitch next week (am hoping I can get to see it in Italy).
His Rugby League background showing through, that would have been perfectly legal in the 13 man game. Unforgivable in a Test match though.
Result is everything, but we have to stop giving pens away....remember they missed three. I suppose playing a team like the All Blacks encourages penalties, but hope they can cut it out a bit in the 3rd test.
Vunipola was having one of *those* games. I'd really want to start with Lawes rather than Anon Wyn-Jones next week too.
Just managed to watch the last 15 on a stream from Canada. Reading the review, it sounds as if the Lions weren't good at the end of the first half and for a while in the 2nd. I just tuned in when Conor Murray scored. Thought Itoje and Lawes looked imperious. Great tackling from Lions. Now, Warren, pick the right team next week! Anyone know where I can get highlights?
The people I feel happiest for tonight are the Lions fans out there. Need to save some money and go to NZ one day! It must be amazing, the scenery, the solitude of the South Island, the vineyards, and .........!!
Try YouTube later. They will have loaded up both halves of the match this evening CET time so when it gets to evening time where you are, you should be fine.
So I know basically nothing about Rugby (played it for a few years when I was kid so know all the rules etc, but in terms of following it I know very little), so can someone explain why everyone is so excited/boastful about beating NZ by just 3 points when they had a player sent off early doors? Rugby must be one of the hardest sports to be a man down in aswell, I would've thought it would've been a pretty poor result to only win by so little, regardless of how great NZ are?
Kilkenny v Limerick on Sky Sports 3 right now for anyone wanting to taste Hurling. Fabulous sport. Go Kats!
If you ever go to Limerick, visit Adare where there is a wonderful golf course. Had a very nice date in Paris with a lady from there many years ago. Met up with her again years later on the off-chance she was at home, after asking at the local post office.
It is because NZ play the best rugby and probably have at least 5 or 6 players who would be in a World XV plus a few more on the bench. The Lions had to devise a way to overcome a team with a set of superior skills and better players, so that is why many on here are absolutely delighted.
And, no matter what anyone says, the Lions are a team "thrown together" in a few weeks against the World number 1 team who have played together (more or less) for a very long time. In this day of professional sport, it's so good to see a tour like this going ahead and I, for one, thought we'd get hammered in each of the tests, so it's great to see us competing and outsciring them 2-0 on tries. Yes, it's very hard in rugby to go a man down, but it shows how good they are that they could get so close. Think it'll be different next Saturday though - their pride is wounded and they'll be looking to make amends. The Lions need to pick the right team, play sensibly and stop giving silly penalties away. Going to be a cracker - though I'm going to go for the ABs by 10+ points. Would be great to see them over here every other 2 years to play a Lions team at the end of their season!! I'm already saving for 2021 and South Africa!!
Lots about that over here (obviously). Don't have a telly and not near a pub so can't get it, but there's a lot riding on it, it would appear!!
