The originator is not as important as the question itself. An omnipotent entity can (or could) have ended any of the seriously nasty acts occurring in human history, and made it totally clear as to the true nature of things, yet chose/chooses not to.
If you had the power to start from scratch and do absolutely anything, why would you create suffering? Why create a product to test it in such a way if you are all caring and all powerful?
They are chicken and egg. Besides predating Abraham doesn't mean the roots are not in religion. Adam and eve for example As for suffering then as the Quran says its "wrought by your own hands".
So your god made us to suffer? How is that omnibenevolent for someone that's supposedly all powerful? It really isn't chicken and egg, the better bits of Abrahimic faiths are corruptions of pagan traditions. The other bits were added for political reasons. No god involved. Adam and Eve? Seriously?
Omnipotence is not omniscience. So the question you have to ask is : Is God both omnipotent AND omniscient ?? If the answer is yes, then God created your "products" fully aware of what the consequences (benevolent or not) will be.
The creation some try to use as stand alone proof of god's existence, contradicts the characteristics attributed to that same god by some faiths, and therefore disproves that version of god.
You can't ask me questions on religion the expect me to ignore religion in my answers. As I said to you previously you can't take certain things as fact without knowing details. Allah gives us free will and says He has set up the Balance (of Justice), in order that you may not transgress (due) balance. So establish weight with justice and fall not short in the balance. If we fall short then its on us
That's not an all caring nor all powerful god. Why didn't your god make a perfect world? Edit, I don't expect you to ignore religion, far from it, I'm just making it clear that reference to scripture is only proof of words in a book. I do not accept that they are credible in their own right, they need external proof and verification.
The problem here seems to me to be your idea of God and the conditions you attach. So on one hand you have this all powerful all caring God concept but then want external proof and verification. Furthermore you keep saying "your God" but are primarily using what appears to be the Christian version of God Islamicaly God is not just limited to being kind and loving. There are 99/names or attributes to Allah and loving and most beneficial.are 2. The notion of evil is also over played as there is more good than evil. More healthy people than unhealthy. Sometimes good comes out of what is seen as evil. So volcanoes erupt and some see them destroying others see minerals and fertile ground Furthermore no evil would mean perfection so where is the test? Ultimately what 1 person sees as something doesn't mean another does. An atheist may see children dying in Iraq as evil but whose evil? I read recently that the people claiming to bring peace and freedom from Isis had killed more kids in the last few months than Isis had in total. Who is evil here and causing suffering? Are the kids who died not the lucky ones compared to the ones who have lives of cancer and suffering to look forward to? And if they are in heaven having died as kids so no judgement etc then are they not lucky?
You said that your god was omnipotent and omnibenevolent when I asked you, and yes, I certainly do want external proof of that. They're your attributes, not mine. Your description above doesn't fit that. Why does your god need to "test" his creation, why didn't they just create it as they want it in the first place, instead of making sure some of their creations are consigned to eternal suffering, which is hardly an example of all caring or omnipotence. Why create evil and ill-health at all, no matter how overplayed it is? Even in your book, not all dead people go to heaven. It'd be no peace to me to think my children suffered to get to heaven, because I'd be suffering too. I'd certainly want to get to heaven to have a word with the **** that hurt my kids and took them from me. Would that keep me out of your heaven? Would your god see my love for my kids as reason to separate us for eternity and condemn me to hell? Surely, an all caring all powerful creator would make a world better than that? Doesn't your argument make killing an enemy in war a paradox for muslims, as it risks filling heaven with your enemies before you get there yourself, and as you've taken lives, you'd be the one suffering for eternity. I doubt an atheist would see a religious concept like evil at all, never mind try and decide whose evil it is. I think they'd just see bad things happening as a flaw in the claims religious people make of their god, and therefore 'evidence' that version isn't true.
Trying to prove god or aliens exist is like trying to prove that a billionaire American can save safc! Ain't ever gonna happen. Just to add, it's only just occurred to me that nobody on this forum has a job.
So sort your sermon out tomorrow mate for Sunday! And while you're doing that, prove your boss exists
Havent got a clue but kudos to the guy who ****ing spayed them to stop them pissing all over the motorway!.) Seriously! Thats just an accident waiting to happen!
Too long mate with too many questions, one at a time would be good or its going to be all over the place. Not that all questions can be answered, by me anyway or by any religious if non religious person. After all doing away with God doesn't mean mass extinctions, disease and pestilence suddenly didn't happen or won't happen. Or do we simply accept them now?
