You're looking really hard for the negatives aren't you Castro. Even though you're a 12th dan black belt at negativity, you're really struggling to find any downsides.

There has been massive improvements to our City. That can only be a good thing.

People are being inspired, seeing opportunities that they previously thought beyond them. Inspiration is a wonderful thing.

Hull folk are seeing that there is light and that maybe they could do, rather than can't do.

    Anyway mate, how's your bunions?

Haven't the majority of people visiting the weeping window just looked at from outside? Technically I've been to visit it but I never went in the museum.

If you didn't go in, you won't have been counted as going in.

The numbers for those who viewed the poppies can't possibly be accurately measured, I suspect they're little more than a guess.

The figures are probably much higher then. There was also no one on the door/entrance when I went to Ferens so need to add a 1 to the total :)

Surely the CoC blue-jacketed volunteers that were hanging around had little clickers to count folk standing by the rope looking and taking pictures? Would give you a reasonable ball-park figure.

I thought it was a pre requisite to count people into Museums etc. Maybe they do it unmanned with a sensor. With the Poppies, there's no way of being precise with a figure.

Don't worry i've been to Ferens twice, no way of getting in without been counted.

I can understand the attendance at Ferens being accurate as they count people in. But the weeping window? We went to look at it (twice) but never set foot in the Maritime Museum on those days.

I was looking at the positives. And trying to to rationalise why some people aren't 100% positive, though they should be. I did say there had been massive improvements, long overdue, to the city.

Just noticed, my first sentence was supposed to read "it can't have been anything but positive for the city".

I've been doing a bit of clothes shopping in city centre today for hols and I've never seen it so busy. Princes quay outlet packed got some good stuff from next outlet. Walking through town Street musicians everywhere including one young lad playing a great rendition of Paint It Black. QV square full of families museums bustling with people studying maps. Outside St Stephens coffee place rammed all tables full. The trees are flourishing down jameson st although one rogue branch almost clothes lined a pensioner. Just a real good vibe about the city centre at moment long may in continue

Just remembered when I was on the Hull - Zeebrugge ferry a few weeks ago, in the attractions leaflet holder was one promoting Hull. Picked it up and had a glance to see what's coming up, low and behold Rod Stewart at the KC in June ?????? **** me is the leaflet not from last year. I did go to the reception and pointed it out but I got the impression they didn't give a ****.

Noticed all the banners on the road to the terminal but those are all down to ABP :emoticon-0148-yes: as for P + O sweet FA.
