Fair enough Bobby, it's all about opinions - I watched more or less every game and what struck me was the amount of times he was in possession with no other option but to take 2 or 3 players on ... the season before was very different ... but we'll agree to disagree. In Europe he was arguably our best player throughout - certainly the most productive
Fossy mate, everyone bar LCFC fans saw that he had a ****e season. Massive risk for a big club like Barca et al. to take him after 1 good season in the PL, followed by a shocker.
Barca are also interested in Jordan Henderson ... provided he has a full driving licence and looks good in a chauffeur's cap
You say he was double marked, then he needs to do the intelligent thing: better movement runs into areas where he isn't double, triple marked. Get his team involved by keeping it simple rather than lose possession. Lastly there were ample times where i thought he had much better options playing it quick to a person in better space. Instead he normally chose the go it alone look like a hero option which usually ended up in lost possession or the defending read the move and the counter attack breaking down as he had to turn back towards goal. You watched him more than me but that's just the way i saw it.
I don't think any Leicester fan would dispute he had a poor season ... and there is always a risk on signing a player tbf ... what can't be disputed is his ability ... if you put him into a much better side than ours I think he would flourish, particularly in the European leagues ...just my opinion but I have watched a lot of footie and he is is right up there with the very best in terms of technical ability, especially when he's got the space to run at defenders with the ball - better sides would enable that for him ...
Depends who is there at the time Do you think Harry Kane would improve Barca's forward line? On the face f it the answer is likely to be no for most players plying their trade in the EPL ... I wanted us to play Mahrez as a number 10 last season when it became obvious that the opposition were able to nullify him by surrounding him when he was out wide ... he isn't very robust which is why the European leagues might suit him better ... Only time will tell of course ... but I suspect he will go on to do very well wherever he ends up ...
Because it would provide superb wum-material for all the lads to post on this thread. Do try to keep up, Bluey ffs!
"... all the lads" ... seriously Quentin ... the last poll thread you made, only you voted .. Quents swinging solo...
According to former Usa footballer and pundit Janusz Michallik, Alex Sandro will play for Chelsea next season. “I think it’s a done deal,” – Michallik said on ESPN FC – “There’s some question marks for me at Chelsea. I love him, I have no idea why Juventus would get rid of him. As we know at Chelsea, there is no left-back. They have Marcos Alonso, so I can see why he would play wing-back. I still think he’s better in a back four system, but I’m going to say that this is going to be a hit regardless because he’s that good and that’s going to happen.”
