I used to work picking berries in Tiptree Essex when I was about 18 for pocket money whilst living rent free at home.
Basically pocket money for kids and students.
These jobs have been hoovered up by East Europeans now, this excuse that English people won't do these jobs is bullshit.

    Correct - It's absolute bullshit <applause>

There never used to be a shortage of fruit pickers in Kent during the summer months, but then all the Eastern European labour moved in and done the jobs for ****ing peanuts. Funny part back in the day it used to be Unemployment Agencies that swooped on the sites, these days it's Border Agencies, how times have changed eh :)

Local jobs for local people when planning applications are submitted, yeah right...this is how the infrastructure works, new roads, new houses, migrants move in to em, local jobs for local people, sorted!

Funnily enough, I was at Wilkin&Sons just a few hours ago. I had a lovely ploughman's, enjoyed an hour in the museum, then stocked up on onion relish, morello cherry, and beeswax candles. Great stuff.

They do indeed. The vast majority of my preserves and condiments come from Tiptree.

I also found the time to buy a waffle maker from Staines & Brights.
