Wagon Wheels were always the last **** left in the cupboard when I was growing up, with cheese n onion crisps.

As soon as the Wagon Wheels were visible, momma knew it was time to get to the supermarket and restock that ****.

S&V crisps were demolished before the shopping even got unpacked... cheese n onion were for the scrounge kids, who never went home to get fed.

I liaise with Social Workers most days, if I can get hold of the ****ers!!

I'm an area manager (very recent promotion) for a supported accommodation company that takes anyone (16-21) with vulnerabilities such as mental health, behavioural, unaccompanied asylum seekers, orphans, etc. etc. . Before that I was a support worker for the same firm working with the same kids.

Then most of my time before that I worked in the prison's, starting off as a Psychologist (hated it) and then to a substance misuse worker (loved it).

I've always worked supporting people in some way or another. Never been or never would be a social worker. Their jobs are crazy these days, unsure how much people know on here but Social Workers are extremely overworked, case loads getting bigger by the week and staff shortages happening all the time. I personally know of 2 social workers that have had mental breakdowns due to their work.

I would class that, maybe erroneously, as a social worker, to be honest.
So would most though I imagine.

My brother worked in Woodhill Prison as a psychologist for Sex offenders.....not a pleasant job.

No, my job is nothing like a social workers job. Social workers don't have much contact with their caseload they just sit in an office doing paperwork, and go to the occasional house visit or child protection meeting. I'm around the residents all day until 19:30. Chill with them, eat with them, shout at them, get shouted at by them, basically I get verbally abused for 10.5 hours a day!!

I've worked with plenty of sex offenders in the past too, very interesting I thought.

I used to run an 8 week thinking skills course for life sentence prisoners only. Usually all in for murder, just me and 8 murderers trying to change the way they think. Bizarre, good though.
