As to the other claim, am I being deliberately obtuse here? How does an act in India in 1891 enforced by the British to stop them (Indians - parts of which would later become Muslim Pakistan) raping children equate to evidence that it was commonplace in England at the time of Mohammed to 'consummate' weddings with 7-9 year olds?
Short answer, I don't know. I don't see how it changes much either way. It's one thing to claim it was of its time, but another to claim the other words are timeless. Seems a strange position for an almighty to promote.
I wasn't just referring to that article which seems to have a bit of an axe to grind. Obviously the views in that article suggest she wasn't saintly. If by saintly you mean virtuous and well-intentioned, yes I think she was. Though I don't think any person deserves 'Saint' status to suggest they're more than human in some way.
Good point well made. No one but Ian St John and Sir Les Ferdinand deserve Saint status. Maybe Marcel from Love Island too.
Was one of the other teams made up of ageing drag artists? hence the "Queens" bit? ... fair play to you in that you've kept that traditional element with some of your transfer dealings over the years
In the 19th century we were exclusively represented by gay workers in London's many parks. Probably. It has been a rather drama-filled last ten years or so. The good people of Hull labelled us the 'drama queens' for having the temerity to not be content with them singing 'town full of bombers' on the first day of the season a month after the 2007 London terrorist attacks, for example.

The grooming of young girls has been around before an after and still exists today. The issue is perps and victims.
Gratian was the proof As for the India case, sure it happened in India but it was British law, as large parts of it still are.
This was evidence of sex with 7 year olds centuries after Muhammad. I believe the age of consent was 12 until around 1929 in uk. Likes of Jean Bidin (1530-1596) said the age of consent was 6 years At the time of Muhammad rabbis and priests were allowing it with kids Said Rabbi Joseph, "Come and take note: A girl three years and one day old is betrothed by intercourse... Sanhedrin 7/55B Said Rabina, "Therefore a gentile girl who is three years and one day old, since she is then suitable to have sexual relations... Abodah Zarah 36B-37A
When I was doing my masters we had some people on the course involved in charity work who hated mother Theresa When you read dome if the background to people like ghandi, Theresa, Martin Luther king junior you see what ****s they were but suited the agenda at the time so were painted as "good" or "saintly"
