But when we went down what did people expect? We knew these players were going, I really don't get the big deal. I'm actually rather chuffed they're going now instead of mid-late August. Then it makes it almost impossible to have a decent season
I'd have expected more positive news on Kalas for instance, seeing as we currently only have one senior sick note centre half at the club. As for 'it's not even 1st of July yet' that didn't seem to bother Leicester who have been widely reported as having signed Maguire for £17M!
Thing is EPT Slutsky said 'he expected to have 90% of his squad in place by July 2... We probably have 30%/40% tops...
Unless there plans to use a huge element of the U23 players in the first team squad, which is what I fully expect. Cheapo ****s!
Clubs have done little bits as you'd expect. In the Championship, off the top of my head I'd say Derby have been the busiest with Wisdom and Davies. I've just checked and Wisdom hasn't signed yet as he's still on holiday and will sort it when he's back. I have no problem with us being more private on the transfer front and I have no problem waiting to find out until they're done.
Didn't everyone think that was incredibly optimistic for the amount of players that we're going to need? There's still what 9 days till pre season. Hopefully we'll hear some more positive news by the time they're back
No they won't. Slutsky wouldn't have come if that was the case. The Allams will back us as it's in their interest for us to be back in the PL
Four Championship clubs have made four signings, another four have made three, that's twenty eight signings at just eight clubs.
And many of the rest cant afford to buy anyone..!!!... what do the small clubs without a benefactor get paid by the EFL.... £5 million...?
Fair enough, forgot Sheffield United and Norwich had been busy. A lot of the current signings have been free transfers though EDIT: In fact from what i can see only 3 deals have been over £1m and only 1 deal has been over £2m. The vast majority haven't got going
It's not just that those other clubs have made those signings. It's also that they are additions on top of stable squads, with established back room teams in place. We have a squad that is being torn apart and we have Slutsky, Pennock and a goalkeeping coach. There's no wonder some people, including me, are getting increasingly concerned. #inEhabwetrust
