First glimmer of a rumour in the papers this morning (albeit the Sunday Mirror) that we might be showing some interest in Harry Kane. No substance to the piece whatsoever - 'JM wants Kane' etc etc - but what a line-up that would be, Kane and Morata. Gossip also that Wenger has an interest in signing Tony Marshall, which I suspect has more substance to it. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/mourinho-wants-kane-not-ronaldo-10681073
I'd say him and De Bruyne create more than any other players in the league. He's obviously got a lazy streak in him but I reckon that could be knocked out of him.
He probably has some lovely stats getting a couple of assists here and there against West Ham when already 3-0 up and the like. If I were a United fan he wouldn't be the sort of player I'd want. He's spineless.
I'm not saying he'd be my preference of player if I could hand pick any player, we are talking about Martial going to Arsenal which probably won't happen anyway. Martial doesn't offer any 'spine' either and he has been piss poor for most of the season.
I'd cut my losses with Martial or play him up front where he should be. Got bored looking but Ozil was seventh for chances created at this point in the season. For a player who might as well not be there when the team doesn't have the ball, it's not great value. http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/fo...gue-stats-most-chances-created-sportgalleries
I think he gets a bad rep, he's never been that type of player to break his neck for the team so Arsenal should be compensating for that, but instead they just let him take the brunt of the critique, despite the fact that their team is an utter mess. I'd certainly prefer him to Martial at the minute though, that kid has just spend an entire season offering absolutely nothing and if we'd paid £50m for him this year instead of last year then we'd never hear the end of it. We won't be signing him and they won't be signing AM. Mourinho would probably go for Welbeck anyway over him.
He's not good or mentally strong enough. He'd be like Nani, have the odd brilliant game then dine out on it for weeks after while being missing most of the time. It's bad enough that Mkhitaryan isn't at it at all times without adding another.
@Matth_2014 What the **** is going on with this, it's fell off Sky's whispers thing for the last few days and that reports even the slightest link
There is a rumour about Mouriniho wanting Kane over Ronaldo and all of the rags have been on that story - makes a good smokescreen while you sort out the details for this transfer.
Ozil needs to play like he does for Germany and did at Real under Mourinho - be high up the pitch, let others graft so he can swan about putting the final fancy finishing touches to moves. He is a quality player but also a bit of a luxury one. Would be a good accompaniment to a player that does the grafting - you are apparently really close to signing Matic for £40M which is allegedly going to happen once Bakayoko to Chelsea is agreed next week.
OK, but should we sign Matic where would Ozil play given we also have Pogba and Herrera? He wouldn't get in the team. And we definitely don't need any (more) luxury players. It'll probably happen now, I'll have jinxed it. Think I'll weep myself to sleep at the thought.
This is all conjecture mate - the only rumour is that Arsene might be getting rid of a lot of his under performing players to sign the likes of Lacazette and Mbappe to see out his remaining years as a manager in a death or glory kind of way. He would be competing for the AM position with Mkhitaryan and Mata if he does become available - can't really see you getting rid of either of them anyway.
I don't know but I read last night that he's coming back from Honeymoon this week, If that's true, I'd expect to hear something in the next couple of days, I just want this saga to end, it's been doing my head in to be honest.
