So, let me try to go along with this way of thinking for a second. Assuming that there was a control centre for this, why would they put it so close to their intended targets? Why would you destroy a whole building to get rid of evidence? Why not just move things out? There was absolute chaos at the time and for a long time afterward. You could easily remove whatever you wanted to.
