Victor Anichebe has joined Chinese second tier side Beijing Enterprises, according to reports.Anichebe was not included on Sunderland's retained list for the 2017/18 season, with his short-term contract expiring at the end of June.

The Nigerian striker was signed last September after the Black Cats struggled to attract attacking firepower in the summer transfer window.

Having worked his way up to match fitness he made a spectacular impact for the Black Cats, scoring three goals in his first two league starts.

Injuries hampered his season and he would not score again for the club, making 19 appearances in all competitions.

The club had spoken of their intention to build a 'robust' squad for the rigours of a Championship campaign and Anichebe's departure seemed an inevitability.

No wonder he didnt want to hang around. He's probably on about 100k a week.

    Couldn't care less in truth.

Played 5/6 good games in his career.

    This exactly.

Bournemouth away and Hull at home for us.

Reckon he was one of the two who also refused to play last game of the season.

He definatly was. He put a pic on Twitter of himself packing his case second from last game of the season the kunt. He'd have been paid thousands for being sat in the physio room.

Just one of the many footballers to have breezed through our club in the past ten years without leaving much of a memory trail, picking up a handsome wage and in a months time people will say Victor who?.

Wonder what he and Lescott picked up in wages last season?
