HESHEM not in the Queen Anne. Will replace that selection with MISS TEMPLE CITY ew at 33/1. Form reads very well behind Tepin and in such an open race pretty confident she'll be pushing for a place. Will be ploughing in on HESHEM if declared for the Prince of Wales tomorrow.
It deffo looks like Qamah is going for the fillies race on the Wednesday – I got that totally wrong. Still can’t work out if this is either (i) due to a total lack of ambition (why run a dual Group 1 winning filly in a Group 2?!?) or (ii) they believe she has regressed and not up to the top level anymore. Big question of the day re Ascot, today, though is will Carntop be declared, later on, in King Philip’s race (the ‘lucky last’ on Friday). One of his owners is a regular reader of mine so it could be positive, people. I’m sure she will have a word therefore with old boy, Ralph.
Skybet have a first race offer for Tuesday (hopefully they will do the same the rest of the week) https://www.skybet.com/horse-racing/royal-ascot/event/20891111 Betway haver the same offer every day but £10 max bet https://sports.betway.com/en/sports/cat/horse-racing
I'm taking on ribchester in the Queen Anne , I think deauville is the value will love the ground and wil be o'briens biggest price winner of the week.
Every body and his dog will be on Ribchester, and who can blame them? But I'm with the seppo mare Miss Temple City to run a nice race at 28-1. I wanna be a hero.
Tough week for your ante post portfolio David. The price advantage you had against SP was easily wiped out by the number of non-runners. Happened to me this year with Cheltenham Festival bets and leads me to conclude it just ain't worth it.
Yes will be reviewing future tactics forthwith! It was more because it's how I like betting, Cheltenham last year I was chipping away for six months beforehand and on the day had 5 or 6 selections in each race when I added a couple each race on the day. Think I had put about 3 grand on and got about 3 and a bit grand back, so ultimately pointless but gave me a little hobby for a few months to keep me occupied. Am at about evens for this year's ascot but only thanks to a couple of decent winners on the day like rajasinghe on day 1 and leshlaa each way yesterday at 40s. I think that leads me to conclude that this will be the last festival that I bother doing it. It's actually low risk rather than high risk because you end up having so many selections, but it's also low or no reward if you actually sit down and work it all out. Back to more traditional punting from hereon
