BBC journo says he will be given the squad he has now to work with, maybe 1-2 additions. Sounds good to me!
His work last season at Alaves has drawn particular attention among managerial talent spotters, with the club finishing ninth in La Liga and also reaching the final of the Copa del Rey against Barcelona. (ring any bells?)
No idea what style of play he adopts but the fact that Alaves topped the yellow card count this season in La Liga with 121 may indicate a slightly defensive style!
If he plays a defensive style here he won't last 5 months let alone 5 years. I hope he only did that due to the quality at his disposal and with a better squad will think in a different way. Assuming we are actually better - Not sure. Put it this way it MUST have been a key discussion point during the interviews.
So what if he played a defensive style at Alaves ?. He can only piss with the cock he has - why should his team rock up and be cannon fodder for the `big boys`. Lets see what he can do with more resources.
No problem. More a dig at those who wanted Puel out, potentially to be replaced by a like for like. He'll get my backing.
