Maybe not those in your own ranks - interesting choice of word makes it almost seem like a religion - but 'you' have slaughtered by the millions those who have faith, just for having that faith.
I take the viewpoint of Harari that all beliefs requiring a 'faith', including communism, fascism, yea, even liberal-humanism, are at their core a 'religion'. He even argues that science is. But to take your final accusation to its logical conclusion, as I identify as a passionate Liverpool fan; ergo 'I' was responsible for the manslaughter of 39 Juventus fans, and so does my daughter, even though she wasn't born at the time. Religion has slaughtered billions throughout the ages, and Atheism has slaughtered millions too (simply because it hasn't been around as long yet). But whilst I also identify as being British, I didn't cause the Amritsar Massacre either, and being a quarter Irish, I hope some of my great-grandparents didn't cause the famine that ruined the lives of other great-grandparents. Anyway, I've not accused any individual of massacring anyone - just their religions (and mine) throughout the ages. And that includes political beliefs too.
People have slaughtered people throughout the ages, religion was just another way of getting people not only to do it for you but feel good about it too.
What the hell mate. That first paragraph is completely unnecessary. I was pointing out that belief in a God isn't necessary to massacre people. There was no personal accusations whatsoever. Don't make it personal
The first bit, re humanist, doesn't make sense. But put simply if you don't believe in christ you aint Christian. As for the girl anecdote tbh she was talking ****e and I would tear her argument to shreds. However that doesn't make her necessarily non Muslim. In islam we have set guidelines and you can't have "halal pork" no matter how you dress it As for not killing I suggest you look at the early advocates and the thinking behind race science etc. Not so squeaky clean. Or read saM Harris views on torture
Not by 'chance' as such. You're making a fundamental [sic] logical fallacy. We have no experience of the universe's creation or any other universe's creations to compare our own universe to and never will; therefore, it would be illogical to infer that our universe has been created by an intelligent designer in the same way that the watch (or sandcastle) has. Just because the two things are alike in one respect, it's illogical to assume they're alike in others. A kitten and a lion share many similarities, but the kitten won't roar. The universe is organic, so a better comaprison is with somthing organic. Do you think a turnip shows evidence of design? The other flaw in the watchmaker argument, is that even the watch 'evolved' via trial and error, and with a whole host of 'creators'.
Chaos theory is just that a theory/inference "it just happens" nothing backs that up nor does it explain something from nothing...
In his book, The Grand Design, Stephen Hawkins explains how the universe can and will create itself out of nothing.
There is freedom of choice to practice what ever people want...but as usual without knowing anything you talking bollocks.... Islam has certain criteria that makes a person muslim or not, not some hippy all inclusive do as you like still be a muslim...
So it becomes the fault of the religion not humans being human...power, control and greed regardless of faith or not...
It's not a rant it's a reasoned response, if you're going to insult people posting interesting points of view like this then you will get more abuse.
He explains how the universe is and was created from nothing. That was in answer to a point made. Your reply has no real relevence to that, but followed through, implies your creator is in fact nothing.
