I've done thousands over the years...

They look like the pic (not skiddy's pic as they'll kill you!).

Find a nice cow field. Eat as you go and leave as a spaceman. Or collect a good handful and eat them, taste like ****ing ****. Or if you have time, brew them as a tea, still tastes like ****.

Hard to predict what a mild trip would be, mushrooms vary in strength so it's always a bit of a gamble.

Never had a bad trip though, ever.

Amazing god given little ****ers tbh.

Like DMT but an extra-lite version and lasts for hours and sometimes the comedown is ****, other times it's ok.

    I recommend trying them <ok>

I couldn't possibly recommend the ingestion of mind altering substances mate, that would be irresponsible.

Nowadays I'm a boring, law abiding 'straight', but back in the day the best mushroom picking spots I knew of were in Powys, Mid Wales. The New Forest in Hampshire, and Trent Park in North London. They also grew freely in the grounds of the old Colney Hatch mental hospital in Friern Barnet. You still need to know exactly where to look though. They appear on rain softened ground in September, best time to pick being early morning. They can be hard to spot at first, but the more of them you eat, the easier they become to spot.

The Liberty Cap mushroom is fairly easy to spot, though there are other, harmless, varieties that it could be confused with by the novice picker. The only poisonous mushroom in the UK is Amanita Pantherina, which is a distinctive red for danger. Similar (not the same) to the one in the photo helpfully posted by GM above.

You wouldn't need many mushrooms for your first journey to inner space, though they do vary in strength. Generally those with a very high psylocibin content will be blue around the gills, a feature that is more noticeable when the mushrooms are dried.

The effect is often likened to that of LSD, but milder and with no grating come down caused by chemical impurities. Generally a gentler, more organic experience than acid, with the user less likely to lose all control of their thought processes. Definitely more of a spiritual rather than hedonistic experience, best enjoyed with like minded people in an environment where the user feels safe, and where the vibe is likely to be harmonious.

I went this place back in the day. Hawkwind never turned up but it was still ****ing cosmic man...

I went to a school for a while in Kent. The adjoining field was a mushroom hot spot, people even came down from London to pick early morning...

I spent many a day tripping my tits off in school!! Most of the school were tbf. Also bunked of so many times and just spent the day in that field alone tripping with the cows. The cows were monster mushroom eaters, tripping their tits off 2 months a year!

The New Forest ponies are the same - blissed out mushroom-heads every autumn.

I was once on my hands and knees in a field near Beauileau Road Sation. The field was full of ponies. I was veeeery closely examining the grass, wild flowers, insects etc, when my mate pointed out this pony about 20 yards away, lying on it's back thrashing it's legs in the air and snorting like a buffalo.

Very much doubt it with natural mushrooms. Possibly with LSD but in my experience mushrooms are a positive substance as they naturally grow in the wild!!

    Try them :bandit:

<laugh> Probably not mate. You might experience some scary ****, but the trick is not to fight it, just go with the flow. Like Sky, I have never had a bad trip on mushies.

I did get the fear really bad once on acid, but that was because I was round my girlfriends house and no one, including her, knew I was trippong.
