Chambers to return? No Thanks https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/3852711/southampton-transfer-news-calum-chambers-arsenal/
What they want us to give him a season at CB bring him on and then he goes back? Nope. Wouldn't have him back even to buy at less than we sold.
Been linked with Murphy before. Would be a good signing http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/jacob-murphy-premier-league-transfer-10664960
This is going to be a very interesting transfer window. In fact it has already been busy with many players in and as usual some out. It's been so manic, I have forgotten exactly what we have spent, who we signed, and where VVD went. I will check back over these 100 pages and 2000 replies to help me remember. How exciting.
Someone correct me, but a certain report in one of the papers is saying that WBA are contemplating a £12m transfer for Jay Rodriguez. I'm sure the decimal point is in the worng place.
It seems to me that Athletic Bilbao have got things right. They do not buy mediocrity from other clubs in Spain or elsewhere as they produce many of their own players from a far smaller catchment area than Southampton due to their insistance on players being born in the Pais Vasco regions only and Navarra, Technically Southampton have not only the immediate area but also London, the Bristol area and if we think further back in time, the North East. To my mind the players we developed who came via this avenue were of an extremely high standard (Steve Williams, Alan Shearer, the Wallace Brothers, Rueben Agboola, Graham Baker). Why am I saying this? Because it is possible the club will be paying £15m for a bog standard player when there are other ways to get the talent you want.
So John Aldridge is suggesting VVD goes on strike to force through a transfer to Liverpool. Well if VVD did go on strike I would make him train with the reserves for the rest of his contract. Clubs need to get tougher with their "wannaway" players and those who make excessive wage demands.
9th of June it opened. http://www.skysports.com/football/news/12691/10862752/when-does-the-transfer-window-open
What I was all happy and blasé about Saints not signing players....now I shall start to panic. Except I know we take forever to do anything.
Harsh, and probably unfair. I still think Jay is capable of doing a decent job in the right team. We're not it, sad to say
The guy is a deluded ****. Micky Quinn as well who said that Saints were acting very childish, sorry for holding our ground you spoiled brat.
Southampton are keen on signing Olympiacos-defender Panagiotis Retsos (18) - Olympiacos are demanding €15m for him. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/panagiotis-retsos/profil/spieler/324351
Yep, agreed & agreed. Sad to say but his time is up, IMO. I suppose being very optimistic, a new manager might "improve him" (by different tactics) but personally I think there's been too much stagnation & he's needs a different challenge & if we can get anything north of £10M, snap his arm off.
**** John Aldridge, the **** was only ever "Ian Rush Lite" ....a legend in his own lunchtime. His opinion doesn't deserve consideration, same as that of fat **** Micky Quinn who inexplicably seems to be paid for his opinion too.
