Nah. I will/ can call him a dick head for the way he went about it. Specially doing it when we are helping him get over a injury. Him wanting to go I don't give a **** about.

 

Meh I just find it hard to be that bothered about it, and really don't see the big deal about a player chatting to another club. The buying club still has to negotiate a fee with the selling club.

 

I'm not that bothered, as it happens a damn lot. Still can call out players that act like dick heads.

 

So all players who do this are dickheads? So (probably) every player who has ever had a transfer is a dickhead. I just see it as part of the transfer process really, they really should just scrap the rule about not talking to a player before the selling club says you can, it is a complete joke.

 

Not every player has video calls etc with other managers.

For me it's a bit like a mate who cheats on his gf. I won't end my friendship over it, but will say he acted a dick head

I think what Beefy means more is that Van Dijk did all this while suffering a fairly serious injury which we were working hard to help him recover from.

 

Whether you still like him or now dislike him, I think we can all agree that if he stays and plays like we know he can then none of us will give a sh*t anymore

On the Shamrock Rovers player Burke. Has plenty of talent but very hot headed. Couple of silly sendings off. Was tipped for big things at one stage. Would definitely be loaned out straight away I'd imagine

It's not like we're helping him out soley for his benefit, it's for the clubs benefit. Or they hope. They'll be contractually bound to provide medical care for injuries. The injury could add some urgency to the move for Van Dijk, his stock is high now - post injury it may become less so. Especially with the big clubs being in the market for cb's this summer.
