so Gervinho gets sent off and gets a 3 match ban for a rather justified 'slap' at a thug hauling off the floor and swinging him round. The 'thug' with a record as long as your arm gets a yellow and no action.
    Just about sums up football......

Under the rules of the game the slap is never justified.

    Deserves his ban.

Actually, that's a point. Maybe if we hush about Barton they'll ignore Song. If that's so then shhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Fingers to your lips.

Well I don't approve any level of treading/stamping either. If guilty he deserves the time.

I don't approve of it. But by God did Barton deserve it for the past.

Still, we could use Song for United and Liverpool no? Stop being so moral and shhhhhhhh.

No! Barton deserves a justified x years ban - treading on him is not justice.

To be fair I don't know how Barton wasn't banned for life long ago but a slap is never acceptable and if it had been a Spurs or United (or any other team for that matter) you all would have been calling for a ban.

Ok so you are in the street. You get tripped and fall over. Some angry nutter grabs your shirt hauls you up swings you round and screams in your face.

    Do you - walk away.
Say I'm ever so sorry sir, let me brush your hands off my shirt.
Try to give him a right hander.
Try to slap him over a bystander getting in the way?

You sound like a right wimp to me sir.

What does a street have to do with a football pitch exactly. Bit of a flaw right there.

Gervinho gets a ban, song will get a ban but that pr1ck barton gets away with it again.
I mean he first calls gervinho a cheat and then says maybe he made a meal of it, forgetting how he made a meal when gervinhos hand grazed his face and then telling RVP that he got punched.
Also did anyone else see Steven Taylor running about holding his elbow, wot a muppet!!!!

I agree that barton deserves a slap, however everyone knows when you do it you get sent off then banned, poor professionalism from the new guy, looks half decent as well

In the street is not being on a football field with other professionals is it lollllll

If you did the same at work you would be punished, its the same thing

  17. I think that had Barton's part in it come under scrutiny by the FA and he was justifiably sanctioned then it would have been acceptable since Gervinho did raise his hand, something which I doubt if he would do again. To let Barton off the hook is bad sports management.

Forget barton he cannot be punished, the ref gave him a yellow and didnt change anything in his report after the match!!

A correct decision on the banning of gervinho, shame the ref didnt send barton of as well though
