Again though, we had an option to buy. Romeu was never here on loan. The other difference is that players like Alderweireld and Bertrand were relatively experienced, in their mid-twenties and looking for moves. Rather different to loaning a teenager who needs experience.
Update: Rodriguez: will stay (according to his dad) Bertrand: wants to move to a bigger team, but will now not force a move (change from last time) Van Dijk: Still likely to go
VVD has to go now IMO. After all he's said and what happend recently I personally wouldn't want him around if I was the board. Sometimes whether it's right or wrong , things happen that can't be undone. He ovbvoiusly wanted to go , so as far as I'm concerned , he's dead to me. Loyalty costs nothing.

Whoever does leave, can we just drag out negotiations so that they don't join their new club and get a full pre-season in which to bond with their new team mates, or settle into the team? Seriously, it's bad enough that they go, but let's just make it as difficult and as drawn out as possible. If the player kicks off, stop him from using the facilities for maintaining maximum fitness, so he doesn't hit the ground running, when the move does go through.
So a little kid in a Liverpool tops asks a pro player if he is going to Liverpool and he says we will see. Probably to get the little kid to **** off and leave him alone because he is going to a wedding, and he is massively offending our club? Not for me.
