Curious why you think Klaassen isn't very good? I get hes unproven in a top league but that aside (and that hes a bit lacking in terms of pace) hes got everything to succeed in the center of the park for Everton, hes got a decent scoring record, intelligent passing game, good forward runs, I think hes a top signing. He performed well for Ajax in the Europa League this year against top teams like Schalke and Lyon as well, granted he wasn't great in the final but that was more Mourinho getting it tactically spot on. Agree about prices, I know its cliche but £20M is the new £10M etc... We are going to need to break our transfer record again to be looking at signings of the quality Everton are looking at and as they are the closest in the pack above us.
Because transfers rarely work like they are said in headlines. £30m for someone who could be their number one for 15 years, is English and looks promising? In today's market don't think that is over priced. Plus it will be like 15m rising to 30 if he hits a load f targets, which if he does will mean that he is worth 30m, it is the same with most young players. It is also a reason we will get nothing like the 35m or whatever it was for Shaw
That's through key word. It is a big risk as he has only had one good season. Also it is £25m rising to £30m.
Just strikes me as someone who will not adapt to the Premier League, thinking he will end up like Luuk De Jong at Newcastle (whichever de Jong was the flop rather than the injury prone one). Feel he is too slow to be that goal scoring midfielder and nowhere near good enough technically to be a creative force in the PL. Someone said to me he is the new Dirk Kuyt without the pace and I think that is a favourable comparison for him. Watch him be the new Tim Cahill now and I'll have to eat my words
He is good, but I wouldn't say very good. He hasn't kicked on in the last few years, so has stagnated. It's up to him if he can be arsed to step it up or not, guess we will see.
This has to be a prime example of the ludicrous situation in the PL. Just look at the value slapped on these 3 Liverpool players. Liverpool want to raise about £60m on player sales by offloading defender Mamadou Sakho, 27, for £30m, full-back Alberto Moreno, 24, for £12m and 23-year-old forward Lazar Markovic for £20m.(Times - subscription required) I think Liverpool will be stuck with those three for some time to come. Moreno for £12m. I would think £2m would be more likely, Sakho, I would put at around £6 and Markovic around £8m. Purchasing clubs should really think about the price, and if the price is too high so be it becasue if the sellers want to get rid of the player there will be room for serious negotiation. Having said that, there are the premium players who are always going to have a huge fee applied to them. Saints have VVD. If City want him, they need to stump up the cash.
Ummmmm, yeah none of those are going for anywhere near your values. Would have all of them at Saints tbh.
And so it has started with west ham and all their links. Giroud this week, lukaku the week after, ronaldo after that. And they are likely end up with .....................................ched evans.
Brazilian media reporting that Chelsea have reached a deal with Juve for Alex Sandro for £60m. Another place that Bertrand doesn't look like going to
Coventry centre-half Jordan Turnbull is wanted by four League One clubs - AFC Wimbledon, Walsall, Bradford and Charlton. He can reportedly move for free due to a relegation clause in his contract . (The Sun)
Maybe, but if these guys are surplus to Klopp's requirements, then prospective buyers need to bid at a much lower price as these guys basically have zilch value to Liverpool, and are costing the club relatively big wages.
