What has this bloke brought to our club that is a positive??He failed to bring any decent players to our club last season and presided over our relegation. This time he has sold our best player and failed to get his managerial target very publically!!What a joke!
Yeah cause it's Bain's decision to sell off Short's assets. Nowt to do with the man himself. And of course, it's Bain who's decided Short should sell his club meaning a new manager can't be given assurances. He's under instruction ffs.
It's hardly Bain's fault the takeover has put off prospective managers and I think most people, especially neutrals, would say that 30 mil is a good price for the lad. I suspect that under previous leadership we'd have sold him for 8 mil or whatever their opening bid was. I think you can blame Short, Moyes, and past mistakes for our relegation. Not Bain.
He not a creative free spirit you know? He's doing his job, as he's instructed. Name something he's done wrong? Not something he's carried out on short's behalf that's pissed you off. Reports this week indicate the debt's down to 110 million. Since then we sold Pickford for 30m, 25 of it up front. that's the debt down to 85m, oh look, there's somebody now interested in buying us taking us closer to getting rid of Short. What do you think he's done that's Positive? I tell you what, he's working hard to get shot of the Idiot who owns us. Why do you think he was brought in? To handle the administrative side of cutting costs and debt in preparation for the sale of the club. Sounds like he's doing alright to me. Carrying out Short's will very successfully. He works for Short, not the fans. So look at it from Short's point of view and ask if he's doing a good job.
Apart from getting good money for Pickford, I was impressed with how he handled the Kone situation. Our players and other teams now no we aren't pushovers. I like the toughness he's brought to the club. I like his vision about which way he's trying to take the club. He has good marketing ideas.
I'm not sure how to go with this one. Short has been trying to sell up for months, its not Bain's fault that the Germans have come in with a supposed bid at this precise time which is obviously making the recruitment of a new manager that bit more difficult, I fully understand McInnes having doubts in this current climate anybody would, and I think its got more to do with that than the supposed lack if transfer funds. We got good money for Jordan, which makes a change for us and Bain makes the right noises in the background in how the club should progress. We cannot progress until we change owners. I do have reservations regards the Rangers Tax fiasco but hope his fingers weren't in that pie. Overall I'll give him a 6/10 with the proviso that he must continue to work harder, but I dont understand in this time of modern technology that he had to go all the way to Florida to be told NO by McInnes who must have had more than an inkling that he didn't fancy us in the first place and these precious football employees have to have a holiday which can't be interrupted to talk about a new job, dosen't make any sense to me.
You've got to bear in mind what an utter state we're in so he's currently wading through **** rather than standing on a pedestal. Getting good money for players, cutting costs and reducing debt are what he's doing and as far as I can see he's doing all three successfully.
In Bain's hands we're in a much better position than we were with Byrne. For a start, he knows football.
I like him. He's no pushover and seems to get the best deals possible when negotiating on our behalf. He's our very own Daniel Levy!
I don't know much about how well he's doing, other than reports our players and opponents don't push us around anymore, we're getting better money for players and the debt is shrinking. I know he's there to run the club as Short wants and nobody else. But when the next set of accounts are released we'll get a much more accurate picture of what he's done(or hasn't) for us. That's where his performance is recorded so we'll know if he's doing his job properly in March. The New York fiasco was a badly handled but Short must have ok'd it, don't know if it was Bain or Moyes idea though? Can't just point the finger randomly and blame can we? But that's one thing that could by pinned to Bain and I don't even know if it's his fault.
Bri man, you should know the rules of the board by now. It's much easier to say Short/Bain/this player is 'absolutely shyte' than present a balanced argument with facts or the slightest explanation ...... if it wasn't so easy people wouldn't do it.
I've said before on other threads that I actually think he's doing alright. He's wading through ****. We're a club haemorrhaging money both on and off the field and he's in the process of addressing that, fetching decent prices for a start and the redundancies were absolutely necessary. Out 5 years in a row escaping relegation by the skin of our teeth was always going to catch up with us, just so happens his tenure has coincided with it.
Blaming Bain for relegation is like blaming the guys who went to the wreck of the Titanic to look for survivors for the crash itself.
