Took my mam to Waitrose once, wouldn't buy a thing, marched straight out and told me to take her to Home Bargains. I dunno, you can take your mam out of Hessle Road but...

    Morrisons.

Though the missus is a fan of Aldi and Home Bargains.

On the topic of both Morrison's and missuses. My girlfriend used to work on the checkout in Morrison's and would occasionally report that she'd seen you.

I'm pretty sure the two of you have never properly met, but that never seems to stop her from recognising and identifying people.

Ha, we haven't actually met, she should have said who she was.

    And given me a discount.

    Hang on a minute.

I thought you were using food banks or has the poor quality foie gras really put you off?

I struggle to get quail eggs at my local but still use it.

    It's free food after all.

You know me Carmine, it's one strike and you're out.

If you can't get the basics like fois gras right, what's the likelihood of them getting everything else on point?

    Shambles.

I was always a Sainsbury person, but in the last year have been converted to Aldi. Generally their products are equally as good as I got in Sainsbury but at much lower prices.

I like the system of check out also, no ****ing about whilst people pack their bag, everything back into the trolley and pack it at you leisure after paying.

I worked on the checkouts at the Morrisons in Bev about 12 years a go. You see the same faces all the time but don't know them. Then when you're walking around town you see loads of them and half the time you both look at each other like 'I'm sure I know this person' and the other half you just do the gentleman's nod at each other.

I could hear the checkout beeping in my sleep for the first week I worked there.

Just what Hessle Road needs another chain budget food shop. There will be no independents left soon, only memories and stories about how good they were from people who choose to shop in Asda, Tesco, Home Bargains, etc, . You'll never see another Aubreys or Setams on Hessle Road, or anywhere for that matter.

Only skimming through threads its too hot to concentrate, but the store on the roundabout opposite Asda is gonna be a LIDL.

Hull will divide when all 13 bridges are raised in City of Culture Freedom Season

    It's a brilliant idea
Leave them up and let the Easterners go round Beverley

Notably Hull City Centre is west of the river...so it's ours...tough

Maybe I'm overthinking this... but what if there's a life or death patient rushing to the hospital in an ambulance... how will they get across the river?

The ambulance will have to jump Evel Knieval style over the bridge
    They're trained for it...
