    And before you rant...

Pro: Lucas came to a club as an attacking midfielder. Lightweight...

Could he have adapted? Who knows.

He was sent back....looked awesome until that inury...then 2 more injuries in recovery.

After that? Was he first choice? No. And still...and i believe this..in a slower hame on the continent...he would have looked good.....why? Like kuyt ..pro..

Shpuld he be in our first 11...no.

But don't slag him for doingwhat every boss told him to do

Liverpool's Kevin Stewart asking price is putting off interested trio West Bromwich Albion, Brighton & Hove Albion and Huddersfield Town, The Sun reports [16 June, page 60].

the Reds[/a] are refusing to sell players on the cheap this summer, despite Jurgen Klopp's plan to strengthen his team ahead of its return to the Champions League. And the Merseyside club are said to value Stewart at £5 million.

You all miss the real issue on lucas.

Its symptomatic of the issues that lfc have had.

That lad as nice as he is should not be withing 5 million miles of a top english team. Thats just a fact. As he is there... like kolo toure for example... lfc are floating around 6th 7th 8th... not his fault but the reality of watching lfc STRUGGLE is that we make do.

How the hell any club can expect to progress up and win things when one injury occurs and we are into the ings, stewarts, and poor old lucas' of this world.

Let me just say this... we scraped by.. absolutely scraped by the last 3 months

Without 3/4 genuine quality players lfc are still not anywhere near the genuine article.

Ive outlined why lycas isnt good enough 3 times. I taje absolute issue with anyobe daring to conpare him to pirlo.. i really do as just saying oh he doesnt need to run to syand there and hold misses the point too.... setting up to protect him kills out high press game. How many times did you see him struggling? Lots is the answer. We got luck in several narrow games last year.

Lfc are best with 4/5 players high up pressing so yeah a holding cm or cb needs to be able cover the ground as in transition we would or should have 3 players back.

Note the goal scored by palace off lovren. Our team is pressibg and he loses position yeah? Fine.. lovren can run a bit but hes exposed in space and this is our game!

Think of putting poor lucas in tgere in that space... well we didnt did we. We went and scrapped a 1-0 or whatever with hardly any shots cos we had to change everything.

This whole system is why vvd was sought... why we need both intelligence and ability to cover the ground.

Surely to god people see this?

Weve far too many lads for too long who cant hold their end uo when the high press is on.

I agree with you...just dont think its his fault he is mediocre...same with most of our midfield...they are all good pros but not suitable for a title challenging team.

We have unfortunately got to the point where we value professionalism and loyalty as the virtue when it should be a given.

Naturally I do not think it's the wish of any player to get injured. Before Lucas got injured
he was the best midfielder in the premiership, running and breaking up play. Still, he does not deserves some of the onslaught some of you are giving him. If Rafa Benitez who bought him thinks he crap he will not be thinking of taking him to Newcastle. Good luck to Lucas !:emoticon-0150-hands

Arsenal's £60m Lacazette deal edges closer as 'concrete' Lyon talks leave Liverpool lagging
Arsene Wenger has been chasing the France international striker for the past year
Arsenal are leading the race for Alexandre Lacazette.

The French striker was expected to complete a big money move from Lyon to Atletico Madrid this summer, but the move collapsed after the Spanish club were hit by a ruling forbidding them from registering any new players until January.

The decision by the Court of Arbitration for Sport has left Lacazette’s future far from clear, with some reports suggesting he may stay in France for another season before sealing his switch to the Spanish capital.

But there are several other clubs - including Liverpool - monitoring the 26-year-old, who scored 36 goals in 44 games last season in all competitions for the Ligue 1 outfit.

Arsenal - who failed with two bids to sign him last summer - are one of them and Lyon chairman Jean Michel Aulas is believed to have travelled to London recently for talks with the Gunners

    Klopp to allow Gomez loan
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is considering sanctioning a loan move for highly-rated defender Joe Gomez as he battles back to fitness.

The 20-year-old fought his way back from a serious knee injury last season although he remained on the periphery of Klopp's first-team squad and only appeared in three FA Cup games.

Gomez is hoping to enjoy a full pre-season this summer to be ready for the 2017-18 campaign, but a spell out on loan may help him get back up to full match fitness.

Bournemouth are said to be ready to offer him the chance of regular game time and are reportedly ready to fork out a sizeable sum for his signature to land him on a full-time basis.

However, as Klopp clearly feels Gomez is a player for the future, it seems the German will only sanction a loan deal.

Brighton and Celtic have also been linked with Gomez, but the Cherries will be confident given they have a good relationship with the Reds, having taken Jordan Ibe and Brad Smith from Anfield to the Vitality Stadium last summer, and helped both progress as Premier League players.

Well thats total codswollop. The Gomez loan was quashed yesterday, he's staying with the main squad, expect to see him as RB and CB cover.
Helped Ibe and Smith progress?! Ibe barely played and did Smith play at all for Bmouths first team? There's putting a positive spin on things and the there is down right lying.

Hopefully this announcement is something completely out of the blue that's not been picked up - I suspect it's just Can's contract extension though <laugh>

Going back to the Moreno and Markovic. Think with today market if Markovic was to leave to an English side he could definitely pick up 15 to 20 mil due to the premier league market being crazy.

Moreno is young and can still be turned into a decent player.

yeah you are right. if a player isn't worth 10mil he's not even good enough to play in prem now.

but no moreno needs a club where result don't matter and you can let in 10 goals a year min due to stupidity cos you look ok running up and down.
