Seems like the thing to do to get the powers that be to do something about our children being slaughtered is to riot and take over government buildings Kim
I posted the other day about how the Express were already trying to put the blame for the disaster on the EU They decided it was the EUs fault because the cladding was added partly to improve energy efficiency and the government is trying to meet EU targets on energy efficiency Talk about grasping at straws, after we ignored all sorts of warnings for years about single staircases, sprinkler systems and cladding It's been stated the cladding met OUR building standards, no idea if EU standards were equally lax but let's not have our brexiteers suddenly go all Euro friendly and pretend we were deferring to EU standards
I think the Scottish conservatives want a soft Brexit too and they are more key than DUP to keep on side. Although I don't want any form of Brexit, I can see the argument that a soft Brexit ( maybe along lines of EEA / Norway ) can be viewed as an interim. It gives time to actually do all those WW trade deals (or to see if we can) and does not preclude a harder Brexit following on later. (Not that I'd want that personally). Given the obviously massive complexity of Brexit I can see the case for a transitional status for a few years after march 2019
How is questioning the EU's safety standards Going all Euro friendly,? we are told what to do by these unelected dictators so questions need answering. EU safety standards trump UK safety standards
It's looking the more likely outcome and especially as apparently there's less hard brexit Tory MP's left as it was some of those that lost their seats. Initially though, May needs DUP of course to get anything through parliament.
I don't think they do. Member countries can deviate from the Euro codes where local conditions require it If you can show me where it says we have to follow European regs let's see it In any case I very much doubt we couldn't have decided to have more stringent standards if we had wanted to. Show me a credible source that says otherwise
I think you are right there is a serious chance of a hard left government if they don't get their act together. May just hadn't got it, problem is I am not sure who in the Tory party would make a good PM
There's a charred Tower block in London to prove we didn't The blame lies with OUR politicians, both Labour and Conservative governments going back years, and not just tarting up a building to make it look nice from the outside, but less safe from the inside, its a whole lot of failings socially, they're a set of self serving thieving bastards the lot of them Drain the swamp
God help us with their completely unaffordable policies, this country never votes for a left wing government and that remains the case thankfully. History has shown before with Tory leadership contests that an outsider sometimes comes through and wins it, if/when May goes but whether or not whoever replaces her, we'll see if they're up to the job. May had been doing reasonably well before the election since becoming PM, but simply had such a pony campaign with nothing really inspiring and own goals like the dementia tax slowly saw the lead over Labour evaporate, Labour ran such a positive campaign but I don't think anyone thought the polls would narrow as they did.
Don't think he'd even imagine himself for that role Not exactly got the common touch has he, our Jacob?
He seems to have more commonsense than most of the Tories, he just sounds and looks like an old Victorian Headmaster,
Agree with most of that. It will be interesting to see what they do, one thing the conservatives are (usually) good at is ruthlessly holding onto power. My view is May is too damaged to last long (the mistakes in responding to the fire the latest evidence of that)
The EU is falling apart, but we'll have to wait and see what happens. We managed when there was no EU, and we'll manage without them, Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic seem to be doing alright. Have a look what next door neighbours think. Got to post this from Hong Kong, the older China man just ain't scared.
The tory council chose the cheapest quote, as with all things these days there is no consideration of quality. The cheap panels that were fitted were banned in America because they were combustible. The second cheapest quote was just £5k more on a £10mill contract and their panels were fire ******ant. The blame for this lies wth tory cuts that have achieved nothing and a resulting lax and underfunded council building inspector and property services department. There are approx 3500 other tower blocks clat in this stuff including oatland heighhrs and tower in little london. The reason for the cladding has **** all to do with insulation and is about making the buildings look nice from the outside for the richer neighbours who can see them. Theresa May.... Shame on you.
Do you really find stuff like this useful evidence. Also I'm not sure what it's got to do with the EU falling apart? I could not watch the first all the way through as it kept stopping but it seemed to be about a bunch of Britain First marching along Luton high st through a predominantly Muslim area brandishing a large white cross to provoke as many ignorant responses as possible On the second I see a bunch of yobs causing trouble on a tube. Google Chelsea fans Paris tube to see a similar example of thick twattish behaviour I don't understand what point you are making here, other than there are plenty of thick morons who are Muslim. That makes them just like white so called christians, does it not?
Nothing to do with Therese May,She isn't responsible for every decision made by the local council,if she is then we should hang the Mayor of London for 4 recent terrorist attacks,I mean surely after the first one he should have stopped the others.Lots of angry people get things done that's for sure, where was this rent a Muslim mob when the terrorists attacked.where were they when the twin towers were attacked.Looks to me like these racists only care when its there own.ooops forgot we aren't allowed to tell the truth are we. Very sad the fire and Building companies etc should serve time for this. But its not the first big problem in London, just the first that part of the community cared about. What a shame Corbyn didn't put as much effort into sorting problems when its whites dieing.
