    Did you even read the link you posted about bookie favourite? - note bookie in the singular not plural - the bookie was Bet Victor who in the same link have Everton bookie favourite to land Keane <laugh> .. . equally who were all the people betting so heavily on Keane to Everton making them bookie favourites - surely you must remember all the heavy links in the press ...

    I know, what made all those people bet in your opinion?
    Strange all that money went on a random player with no links and the bookie (singular I am assured) was so worried he lowered the odds instead of raking in fool bets.

    Doesn't work like that. He'd be stupid not to lower the odds, because he knows no more than anyone else, and it could just turn out to be true. A bookie's only in it for the money, and the best way to do that is not to take any unnecessary risks.
    Who knows why a number of punters thought it might happen - wishful thinking, believing some vague rumour? The fact is that the people who put money on it knew nothing either.

    Just out of interest I went on the BetVictor site and they are currently offering 3/1 on Manuel Lanzini to Liverpool ...... who??? Never heard of him let alone any rumours. I'm sure Diego will have the skinny on him when he pops along later ...
