Some people might have suggested that the thread should be closed, Duncan ... but all the mods from the different club boards that post on here are well aware that they have no mod powers outside their own boards and therefore direct closing of the thread was never an option .. as you say, only brb could do it ... but I don't recall seeing any requests for that on the Moderator's board (obviously can't speak about PMs) ...

For me, this whole debacle was a guaranteed fait accompli as soon as Quentin decided to post his dribble on GC ... and, as such, I would not have requested the thread to be closed ... you reap what you sow ... and he is one of us (in the loosest of terms possible ).
