I don't think anyone here thinks we'll get anyone called up ever. Livermore left and straight away he got called up and his value went up for his new team.
As Maguire and Robertson signed on the same day was that the best days business in the clubs history ?
Harry has always had potential we just haven't had the right manager to embrace it. That includes Bruce. He needs 3-4 games to get match fit he's not one to put in and out of the side. He's a better player than Gibson. He's not a better player than Keane mind, he's a real class act. 17 million is about right for Harry, and how good he becomes is up to him. I sometimes worry about his real desire to defend like the Cahills and Terry's of this world. His concentration waivers an all. Mind you he's a class act on the ball and next to the right player and under the right guidance he'd be as good Stones.
Forgive me but who the fook is loftus cheek? What's he done, where's he come from? I gather he's owned by Chelsea but...
Quick question, why are you classified as an 'idiot' on not606 when other posters are classified as members or well known members?
This 14% is a lot worse than it looks. Sky split their build up from the actual match to make two separate programmes to raise the viewing numbers of the games themselves. Figures didn't rise (in fact they dropped like OLM says) for a programme that was only match coverage rather than a whole broadcast (where the pre-match and post-match always dip).
Notice Slutsky mentioned in an interview about the rule of being able to loan 4 players from any one team - could mean he hopes to get 4 on loan from Chelsea? Loftus-Cheek, Bertrand Traore, Tammy Abraham and 1 more would be amazing.
Abraham is going to Newcastle. Ugbo might be a go, he's their next star youth striker. I'm pretty sure Traore is being sold.
17 million for Maguire is good money. Gonna miss him though. If he's peaked then not as much, he is prone to mistakes, if he can still improve then he will be sorely missed.
like I said.. 7% per year. 10 years goes by, 70% more expensive. remember when a Mars bar was 25p? there was a **** load of fuss abut petrol breaking the £1/litre barrier, that wasn't long ago.
Sounds like Golovin is a goer after all, with Kalas also a decent chance of joining. If we could get 1-2 players in by week's end I'd start to feel a bit more reassured about the state of the squad. Players looking to join or stay will also feel better seeing players coming through the door rather than leaving.
I'm a Leicester fan just haven't been arsed to change my username, got better things to do than care about that. We only struggled last season because of Ranieri changing our style of play. As soon as Shakey reverted back we picked up points at the same rate we did during the great escape and our title winning year, in other words Champions form. There's nothing at all flukey about it, it's simply just how good we are and next season we'll have an even stronger squad and I'm putting money on us finishing in the top six.
As knobbish as he's coming off, he is right that Ranieri insisted on changing the style and telling players like Vardy not to run as much, leading to a marked decline in form of a number of players.
Why am I coming off as knobbish? All I'm doing is responding with reasons why it's a good move for Maguire and telling people how we're aiming for Europe and will be spending big this summer. What's wrong with that? It's true so I don't get why I'm being knobbish for saying it? I've not said anything remotely derogatory about Hull either. If it's about my comments about Spurs and Everton, there's nothing there I'm saying that's wildly inaccurate either. I do think Spurs will struggle at Wembley, Everton will be screwed without Lukaku and we can afford to spend more than both on fees and wages. Last season Ranieri decided we had to evolve our style of play and make us more possession based but we don't have the players to play that way so they didn't know what they were doing. It was either Drinky or Kasper after the United game actually said "we don't know what the **** we're doing" and you could see the instructions and tactics were all over the place. He had the defence pushing up but stopped us from pressing from the front so teams just cut through us and our back line was so easily exposed. In fact he stopped us pressing completely, he wanted us to drop off but you could see some players going to press because that's what came naturally to them only for them to drop off and try to get back into position. It was an absolute shambles. Shakey just asked them to do what they know best and got results because he recognises their strengths and let's them do the rest.
Because you're acting very self-entitled on a Hull City forum. Regardless of your actual opinion or how valid it is, there's a way to conduct yourself, and then there's what you're doing. Chortling about how rich your club is and how you're going to walk the league or get into Europe, etc. isn't really the way to carry on on a club specific board.
