I feel for the guy and didn't really deserve it but let's be honest, the football was crap to watch. You can't say he didn't coach the players to not score and absolve him of responsibility. The fans didn't back him because the football was dreary. In time we will look back on last season as the worst since our relegation to league 1, in entertainment terms.
Well the club can **** off with it's weasel words. Absolute ****e. I'm possibly more disappointed by the official bollocks as I am by the fact that we've dismissed a good manager and decent man.
What I want to know is why has it taken so long to sack him? If it was purely footballing reasons they surely knew weeks ago that they wanted him to go, so why the delay
I think I trust the board on this one. He clearly wasn't happy, hence his chat with st etienne. Had he been offered and taken that job it would be mutual. What do you expect the club to do? Let puel say "well I'm not really happy here but haven't found a better job so may as well stay for next season". If he had shown real dedication and determination to succeed how do you know he wouldn't have been kept on?
'Saints have a very short shortlist. They wouldn’t have pulled the trigger if they didn’t think they could get what they want.'
