Hopefully sparks a bidding war and a big club comes in to buy him for £22m. He deserves better than Leicester City.
It's amazing that he was never a first choice for us and now he's gonna be an International player. To be fair though, the current England team is **** so you are probably correct in your assumptions. If Livermore is England class then anybody is.
Not sure how you arrive at that conclusion. We've shipped goals aplenty and have been vulnerable to any half-decent attack. There have been some good and some piss-poor performances from individuals, but very little consistency.
Yep, if most sources report around the same figure then I think it's reasonably likely. Since most places seem to have had us valuing him at 20 million I can't imagine we would have accepted significantly less, and it may well have add-ons that take it over 20 million. at the end of the day it's going to be a lot closer to 20m than 500k.
Thought he would do better than Lesta, but maybe he just wants to play week in week out, rather than join a top team and bench warm. I guess Lesta not so far from Sheffield, so he is not far from where his home is. Good luck to him, pity he didn't get a chance of another year in the EPL with us, but I think it as unlikely he would stay even if we had survived.
If he does well there for a season or so he may well be able to move to a 'big' club and be a starting player, so that might be his thinking.
I'd take 17m for Maguire considering the fact he has one year left on his contract. Also, I don't think that's a bad move for him. Two ageing centre backs so he is guaranteed game time, and won't be sat on the bench. There are no 'big' clubs where he would get much game time. We have seen how rusty he can be if he doesn't play regularly.
He wouldn't work in most 'big' teams playing a straight centre back 2, as some of his best attributes are bringing the balk out on a marauding run and if he loses the balk they'll then be exposed. He needs to be in a middle 3 or I can see him moving to defensive midfield.
Yep, Nixon tends to be pretty reliable so wouldn't be surprised if 17m is the fee. I also wouldn't be surprised if we've leaked it to try and get some last minute bidding as we did with Snodgrass when we accepted Burnley's bid.
Whilst he's definitely 'good enough' for a top club, there's still mistakes in him which I think the big clubs will want to see squeezed out. I have no doubt that he'll go on to big things, a big sell on fee is a must.
He brings the ball out well and then misplaces a pass and at top PL level you get punished. I hope I am proved wrong and Harry goes on bigger and better things, but I can't see playing for a top 6 team regularly.
