I agree Aginairrr that would be successful (if we keep the players we have got too).
Ha Ha good one overseasTOON, i am 50 now and still get overexcited about possible signings despite knowing better. Deluded, maybe but without a dream i wouldnt buy a lottery ticket either and we are all entitled to dream even if it is sometimes highly unlikely to happen.
Who would have thought man city would be where they are now a few years ago, or for that matter who would have thought someone with that sort of money and ambition would want to buy man city.

Having seen what I have seen of Pieters and Cissokho, I hope to god it is the latter we go for. He looks superb, and for 7 million would be an absolute steal. Then, please, bring in Situ and someone like Maiga :)

Ave just been looking on Lyons site and Porto have a clause that they get 20% of the fee if Lyon make a profit on Cissokho, so may be why there willing to sell for less than they paid for him, so they can get 100% of the money

In that case, why not sell him for, say, 10 million, or more? If they sold at 10, Porto get 2 million, which means Lyon keep 8.

I mentioned yesterday that we could. Evra and Cole are both into their 30's, so in a couple of years Man U and Chelsea will be looking at long term replacements. We buy Cissokho now, say for £10m, he has a couple of good seasons - Man U or Chelsea come in with a £20m pound bid - double your money. They don't then take a risk on an unproven PL player. What's more, if they both start looking at the same time they could get into a bidding war so Ashley makes even more. Just speculation, but there's logic in my thinking.

Isn't that clause just 20% of the profit, so if there is £1M profit then they get £200,000 - or have I missed something again

Isnt it 20% of the profit itself? Example: bought for 5 million, sold for 8, they get 20% of the 3 million profit?

I havent read it thats just my understanding of sell on profits from football manager.

This has popped up on news now...

    http://www.nufcblog.co.uk/2011/08/16/newcastle-interested-in-transfer-listed-french-international/?

Hardly a concrete, reliable source I know.. but the bit in bold caught my eye. Fallen out of favour? Dispute? Put in a transfer request? Things just got interesting...

How true it is though, I have no idea. I'm still guessing that it's just a rumour and that Pieters is going to be our LB - but you can't help but wonder!

    NUFCTwitt
The Lyon left-back, Aly Cissokho, has now put in an official transfer request. Newcastle have also been told to up there offer to £7m.

Wouldn't Pieters cost around the same too? 7 mil would be a fantastic deal for Cissokho. Bloody hell MA, what are you waiting for??

Isn't that NUFCTwitt not the most reliable of sources though..?
