Pretty much done last week, a shame we couldn't pull this one off, he's a bargain at £800k.

    Silly boy.
Sorry but he's not yet ready for the Premier League.
Played well for us, but did not shine for Derby.
Still, money and Agents tend to sway things.

What a screw up this deal has been. City had it in the bag and where far to slow to get it concluded. Well it will be very interesting to see what happens to Ayala @ Norwich over the coming season.
Agents again doing whats best for there commission than there client. Lambert says Ayala will be good cover. Time will tell as always.

Thankfully Hobbs and Chester are doing well and will get better with each and every game they play as a pair. With cover from Evans and Dudgeon and Bradley and Macca due back soon its time to spend any money on a New Forward
IMO. The missing out on Ayala is by far much worse than any miss made by Harper and Mclean last season. Grrrrrrr.

NOT a screw up - nothing to do with Hull not sorting it out quickly...

Even if they did the agent would have then announced the deal and others would be given time to come in.

    THIS IS NOT HULLS FAULT.

The deal was done on 13th, this is just the paperwork being finished.

Yes we were far too slow to get it concluded, I mean what an idiot Daniel has been signing for a premiership club! Why would he think City are now a championship club and don't have a divine right to get promoted?

PS - how can you have it in the bag when they hadn't even talked to the player to agree terms...!

Some posters on here are deluded.

Its appears that his agent got this deal done Not Ayala. He got his head turned by a much bigger pay check ?
The question now is has he made the right choice ? Only time will tell us now on that one.

I can't understand why HCFC are getting stick from fans over this.

No player in their right minds would turn down the chance of playing in the Premiership in favour of the Championship. IT'S NOT ABOUT MONEY!!

Good luck to him. I'm sure he regrets not having the chance to link up once more with NP.

    We move on!

So how were we too slow to conclude the deal if his agent was trying to get him a prem move? We cannot kidnap him and hold him to ransom until he signs!

Ayala could have chosen Hull - we can't blame his agent.

Truth is, he was after the best offer. Sadly, he was offered the PL.

It was his choice, and we should stop pretending his nasty agent has forced him to go elsewhere...

Just as deluded as thinking Hull City cocked up the deal by dithering. Both untrue.

Whenever we agreed a deal, that deal was going to be announced in the hope that a Premier League team would come in for him, it was and they did.

Nothing we could have done about this one, if there was Premier League interest, we were always going to miss out.

You can't blame Ayala for taking the offer either, however much he liked NP and his time with us, he was never going to turn down the chance to play in the Premier League and nor should he.

    Good luck to him.

I can see the truth Steve but it will have been his agent that got him the move, not Ayala.

    Meh?

His agent merely gets offers - the client then picks the deal.

Ayala wouldn't get any deals as that is why he pays the agent?

The agent does not pick the one to take - he is employed as a AGENT for his client. Do you lot think the agent picked the deal then announced to DA where he was going???

Really do not see what you mean?!

Ayala if he gets game time will do ok in the prem, he reads the game quite well with the odd mistake here and there so will fit in well at the bottom end of that league....besides, I would rather go to Norwich than DQPR or Swansea as Norwich have the better chance of staying up...Lambert has bought well, has a decent striker in Holt and some half decent players all over the park really....compared to QPR and Swansea they are head and shoulders above.

Good choice for Ayala if you ask me......at least he knows he is going as cover on prem wages....not like when Cambell went to Sunderland, thought they were a much bigger club and a shoe in as striker then went on to warm the bench all season.....lol

On the bright side, It ensures neither Hobbs nor Chester gets pushed down the pecking order, saying that, I still think a loan of a more experienced centre back would be nice .
