Great tournament from them, amazing achievement Maybe our seniors need to go and chat to the youngsters about how to win.
Lookman is the stand out player in this squad. The GK Woodman looks excellent too. Newcastle have a great young keeper there.
the bigger picture is it just shows that something goes pear shaped with the English team from this stage onwards. Coaching at the clubs and managers obsessed with overseas talent make sure these players dont make it. To be fair these players deserve not to make it when they get offered a contract from a club like Chelsea and say for example Everton and they choose Chelsea. Money ruins the game past this stage...nice little World Cup win...but this squad wont do much more.
In my view, it's way past the time that our clubs started investing more in home grown talent and less on spending hundreds of millions on short term thinking. My own club has had some notable success with bringing on young talent, as have a few other Prem clubs too. These kids are Champions of the World. They should be given a chance by their clubs to show what they can do.
He's a light-weight Walnut. He says he wants to usurp Kane, the best goal-scorer in Europe! If it wasn't so laughable, it would be tragic.
Yet again just shows The Premier League has destroyed football in England. An international league played in England to the detriment of the home nation.
Was a great achievement from the lads, buzzing for them. Biased cap on said the two Spurs lads were great, Lookman looked class in the first half and the keeper was very impressive. As others have suggested, they really do deserve chances in the first teams of their respective clubs. Us and a couple of other sides have been pretty good with trying to blood youngsters through but we all need to do more. Would love for the FA to enforce some type of rule in which sides must have a certain amount of academy players in an XI/ match day squad.
I thought Onomah looked really good yesterday. The English midfield won them the tournament, they were all very good. Who was the other Spurs player? Cook, Maitland-Niles, Onomah, Lookman, Solanke, Woodman and perhaps Ojo will go on to have decent PL careers. I think the first four might even make the seniors.
