Just a hunch (and some stereotyping) but if the new owners come in I think the new guy might very well be LVG if he is actually interested. Big name in football, managed some huge clubs, would seem like a sign of intent from the owners. Would fit well with previous Chinese owners in the English game trying to bring in big names when they arrive. Can get him at 20/1 atm, I might have a small punt on that.
Plays an atrocious brand of defensive and sideways football though. I'm not saying it isn't effective, but sacking Puel for LVG might seem a bit 'out of the frying pan and into the fire', at least in terms of style.
I didn't think he was that great a player. Strong, fit, energetic and good in the air, but I never thought him a great player. I loved what he did for Saints though.
Yes perhaps my wording was slightly off the mark. What a servant? Certainly played for the shirt and scored some great goals. He was in his pomp whenever I really fell in love with the Saints.
To be fair, the most boring football I can remember seeing recently has almost always involved watching England, not Saints. And If it weren't for a bit of individual brilliance from Chamberpot, and then Harry Kane getting on the end of a hoofed "cross", we'd have lost 2-0 yesterday to the worst Scottish team in history.
Odds only tend to change because of people putting money on. So either it's people with inside info or some very hopeful saints fans!!!
This, I cant recall a more dislikeable man giving press conferences. I'd be embarrassed if he came to manage us.
Roger Schmidt confirmed manager of Beijing Guoan. Think this may be quite old news - I have only just seen it
