certainly has lots of talent has taken far too many touches quite often during the tournament.
The best thing about this team is the fact it has been a cohesive unit and hasn't relied on 1 or 2 players but instead the top performances have been passed round.

ps Panemanda (sp) is still blubbing like a baby & quite few Venezuelan players are still crying just not as dramatically

PPS the 4 Everton players have found a flag

 

Anyone decent at that age goes into under 21s for the Euros.

 

Kenny has had a good tournament at RB & Cook in MF though his wordt games were probably the today & SF.

problem these days is just getting the chance to break into a first team in the PL

Thats why they shouldn't be playing for Prem teams at the start of their careers (unless they are very good). Should be in Champ teams at highest were can play week in week out and move to Prem club after couple years experience. Unfortunately they see the riches of the Prem and move too soon.

How many first team games would Ojo have got if he's have stayed at MK dons? How many would Solanke get if he moved to Champ club rather than us this year where he won't play. Same with Sinclair, he joined Watford and got no game time where as could have dropped a division and played a full season.

Lookman played 2 years at Charlton in league 1 before moving to Prem and looks better player for it. Similar with Cook, played loads at Leeds in Champ before moving to Prem and got unlucky with injury.

 

That is true. This is every 2 years and just bridges ages so the better might well be in euros but certain countries take this more seriously.

Bit of a miss at the end there. From what I saw Lookman was very good, but then again its easy to get excited by his dribbling and directness and I didn't really analyse Solanke much.

 

saw quite a bit of England in this tournament and my view is that Lookman was the most "exciting" of the England players but overall for England possbly between Cook , Kenny & Solanke for best player.
My view on Solanke is that he can do most things to a decent level but doesn't stand out in any and for a forward these days to make it with a good PL team think they need a stand out quality where as Lookman with his pace and quick feet does.

obviously this is probably total tosh & he will be turn out to be the next Lewandoski

 

I often look at kane and think similar though. He doesn't really excel in any one area. He's. It quick, he's not brilliant in the air. Doesn't run behind, doesn't close down. But guy scores shed load of goals.

Sometikes mentality can be just if not more important than attributes

I'd agree with you lads. he's a worker and a bit of a unit but he's got to do a bit to be a prem player.

 

A all round player up top is better than a standout player in one area for us imo. Klopp allows to forwards freedom to move about, he says that they don't have set positions. Having someone that is 'just' a striker would undermine that approach

Not that Solanke will be a first tannery any time soon

 

IMO the main function of a striker is to score.

Kane simply doesn't look much of a player at times but he has the knack of scoring.. a lot...

The question is can solanke score a lot of goals, one chance on goal... if he can he will have a career...

 

If a team creates enough chances then the goals will be scored.

It's better to spread the goals around rather than rely on one player to get a hat full.

I'd much rather have three players on 15 goals than one on 30 (the remaining two would still get some between them)

 

Load of strikers who have had good scoring records but add little to the team outside of getting the goals.

 

Insigne just scored a superb goal for Italy.
