I have no idea why this "high press" has suddenly become a big thing, when Liverpool and Arsenal start winning the league and/or European trophy's on a regular basis I may start to have second thoughts on it's importance/relevance.

Maybe not, but a lot of our own fans, as well as wums, are making out that our plans are in tatters and we've nowhere to go because we screwed up over a major signing. I'd just prefer to wait and see what happens before I start wailing and gnashing my teeth.

Not sure I understand the relevance of that comment to mine - I take it there is one?

As long as you get a player (players) the manager actually want's there should be no problem.
Jose obviously wanted Greizemann but has now had to move onto Morata, no problem if he is still a Jose pick.
We are close to signing Lindelof , I suspect VvD was first choice before he did his ankle in so maybe second pick but still on his list.
It's when players are foisted on managers that problems occur.

It's all based on the Rodgers style of play, works in Scotland's and that

Yeah but if you say it in German (fast press) it sounds all new and innovative

Rodgers said "we will try to win the ball back in 7 seconds", Klopp say's "we will try to win the ball back as fast as possible".
Realism, innovation, how will the PL cope with this <laugh>

Still, it's good that you keep getting managers that are prepared to change your style so drastically and make a difference <ok>

Brod wanted the players to do it all the time. Klopp (and Guardian) rightly get the players to do it in the oppositions half for a short period of time before accepting the team needs to defend

Most teams do it if you watch them, Brod (or Klopp with his "gegenpress") have not re-invented the wheel, this is why many people laugh at the thought that some of you think you are doing something different to what has happened since football began.

Not sure who claimed the wheel had been invented tbh. Anyone claiming such a think is a moron!

I just like / prefer that tactic over other options.

I'm sure you've seen me at it before but the defensive counter attacking football we played under Houllier bored the living **** out of me. So much so that I often chose to do something else (that's fun) rather than watch the game.

As usual people fall for the Diego is bored so will make up arguments on Saturday night.

For the record off appointed Hodgson to make do with no money, dalglish in desperation, Rogers in niavity and klopp? ****s know but secretly Diego would have loved to have him :)

At some point in the dim and distant past lfc appointed houllier and then rafa... this was Moore's and parry btw...

Quite how fsg managed to approach and pay the rate for klopp I don't know but I reckon they went for the best and waited for him with Rogers shorn of his staff....

In many ways it was completely ham fisted approach but we are just lucky someone told them who and he accepted.

I think Klopp was always a first choice so we had to settle until we got him.

Thankfully we do have him now and it's already paying off.
