Someone on here mentioned a few days ago that Per Mertesacker would be a good signing for us, completely agree with that, although I've not heard any rumours about that one.

 

There was one from caughtoffside.com. ...says a lot.

Would love him to come though.

 

I've always thought he would be a great signing for us and i don't think he would cost an astronomical amount for a player of his age and experience, its a pity that we don't really seem to be interested in him as i think he would be a better bet than Dann or Shawcross.

 

I would hesitate to believe this rumour as others have said above.

The only thing that would give it credence would be if we were to get him cheap- or as a makeweight for Meireles (although, other than the fact we're full of midfielders, can't think why Raul would be shipped off).

I can't believe Chelsea would be that desperate to get rid of Alex that they would sell him cheap- but one shouldn't fall into the fallacy of believing there is logic behind Chelsea's transfer policies.

 

mertesacker rumours have gone round since at least january but mainly to do with arsenal.
