The only way to combat Arsenals passing is by using raw energy, if we can play like we did first half for on Saturday for 90 minutes, we'll have too much for Arsenal.
Any bets on the first Liverpool player to transform an Arsenal player into a rocket aka getting them launched! Adam got to be one of the front-runners but wouldn't doubt a Carroll flashpoint.
You mean, the first Liverpool player to attempt to kick an Arsenal player up into the air, the favourite is Carragher.
Just realised that if Wishire is still injured then who will we play in midfield? No Fabregas anymore, no Nasri, Diaby is injured, Denilson is on loan, and Song and Gervinho are suspended. Might end up being this line up. -----------------Szczesny--------------- Sagna-----Vermaelen---Koscielny---Gibbs -----------Ramsey---Lansbury----------- Walcott--------Arshavin----Chamberlin/Miyachi ------------------RvP----------------- Its a decent team but no exactly intimidating is it?
To be fair, Arshavin did score the, what, 4 goals against us two years ago? And this was in the middle of him looking out of form... We do tend to bring out the best in the opposition, they seem to get up for the games against us...
He hasn't performed that well against you in the last 2 matches though has he? Can't control his weight either, just wish we had bought him a few years earlier than when we did.
Is Vermaelen fit? From a Liverpool point of view I think we've got to play Kuyt for this game just for the amount of running and hard work he does.
Arsenal now are very similar to liverpool a couple of seasons ago, losing players, inability to spend money ( we had none, Wenger wont part) looking fairly vunrable but on their day can still play very good football. The match i can see going either way completrly depending on wether arsenal turn up or not. If they play the way everybodies knows they can, they will be comfortable winners, if not i can see us snatching a win 2-1. On a side note, is their any particular reason wengers at tight as a ducks arse.
the result depends on wenger's priority: champions league progress or PL win at this stage. if tonights game is draw or loss, think we may not see full arsenals strenght against lfc.
anyone think arsenal are going to have admit at some point they look like they have stripped the cupboard bare here. this tim two years ago i said liveprool needed a bit of luck but we could be ok. we finshed 7th and torres and gerrard were injured. arsenal are hoing agasint hope somehow vermalean, RVP and walcott stay fit! i can see why some pundits are putting them 6th right now... boy do they need to spend the 100s of millions sitting round earning interest! what will arsenals team be?
I reckon Kenny will go with this Reina Kelly Carra Agger Enrique. Lucas Adam Kuyt Suarez Downing Carroll.
I'd say the same, but I also have a feeling we might line up a 4-4-2 to take advantage of Arsenal's weak midfield at the moment.
I predict a very tight, probably boring, low scoring game. With the players Arsenal have missing its probably the best chance we have had to win at the emirates. Could do with Johnson back and Aqua on the bench. If we get a even share of possesion and dont sit too deep, I predict we could win
Gibbs and Djourou picked up injuries. If they both miss the game that could see Vermealen left back and Squillaci centre back. Imagine Squillaci and Koscielny against Carroll and Suarez
Arsenal looked very average last night. Jenkinson came on and was poor - Suarez and Kuyt should do well against him. He was bullied off the ball and out of position by Pinzi a few times. Ramsey lacked his usual invention, Rosicky was terrible, Frimpong came on and did nothing positive... Apparently Chamakh was playing (didn't see him even touch the ball). It'll be just our luck if they all come out and play well, however.
Wenger's going to have to play a serious makeshift side. If we can keep our discipline when going into this match, then we should come out with a win. If not, then it'll be a dull draw. I have a feeling with the missing players Arsenal have got, it may be a case of Arsenal going for the point
Avoiding a loss is definitely key. Don't want us to lose a game until October or so - show our intent, toughness.
