Unionists in Scotland are always going to squeal whenever it looks like they will lose their status in the UK. These range from the Orange order to Tories to English residents. You will see the true measure of support for the SNP when Brexit terms become clear. You are merely taking up the establishment line which is very keen to latch onto anything to push Scottish Independence away. The SNP is the dominant party in Scotland for a reason and despite it's 'spanking' it still is.

Elections seem to be going much better in 2017. Can't believe how **** the Tories did. I know May was bad but with the early advantage and overwhelming media support it should have been a tap in. Shame the Scots ruined it a bit

The Tories were dead in Scotland, so they boosted the SNP to destroy Labour's support there. Fended off the independence vote and now they're making a comeback, as the vote's split. ****ing Salmond couldn't even keep his seat from them, the useless twat.

One result from this election that really didn't fit the Narrative... Diane Abbott's majority in 2015: 31,357 Diane Abbott's majority in 2017: 42,265 So in spite of weeks of hounding by the media and some outright vicious things being said about her online, often by people with no interest in the colour of her rosette as the basis for the abuse they were flinging, the voters of Hackney North & Stoke Newington rallied around their MP.
To be fair, she is an absolutely clown and must have had a negative impact on jezzas campaign as much as she's loved by her constituency
Here's something to consider about how the respective leaders approached the election. The day after the Dire Leader announced the election was to take place, Jeremy Corbyn was on the streets of Croydon canvassing for votes - and so he should have been given two seats were in play, with Labour holding Croydon North while the Tories had a majority of just 165 in Croydon Central. Over the course of the election Croydon also received visits from Sadiq Khan and Tim Farron...although both made a mistake by using the BOXPARK as their base for media interviews, because it's never a good idea to conduct interviews in a white elephant, especially one whose owners somehow kept a straight face while pocketing £3m in taxpayer's money before buggering off to leave their white elephant to die a death. Yet there wasn't a visit from the Tories at any point in the campaign. While it goes without saying the Dire Leader wasn't seen, neither was Boris (who was often dispatched this way when Cameron was leading the party), nor did a single member of the Tory front bench visit. The closest Croydon got was when Jeremy ...Hunt visited the St Hellier children's hospital in the Epsom & Ewell constituency (coincidentally this was a week before the NHS hack and his sudden public disappearing act) where the most notable thing about his visit was him running away from hospital staff as they asked him all manner of uncomfortable questions followed by his car literally getting caught in red tape as he sped away from the area. It's telling that in all three of those constituencies, including Croydon South which is one of the safest Tory seats in the entire country, Labour boosted their vote by an average of 10% - taking Croydon Central while building a significant majority in Croydon North.

Northern Ireland's public sector holiday looks set to continue. At the start of this year I met someone from Stormont to get a contract drawn up for some business I wanted to get done up there. The contracts were drawn up, but before I could sign the NI Assembly collapsed, so I was told to wait until after the Assembly election had taken place before we could sign. The election took place, and the two sides couldn't reach an agreement, expect further delays. The UK Government at this stage were legally obliged to step in to sort the mess, only for May to announce an election of her own. Which would be scheduled right at the start of parade season. (In NI, parade season is taken extremely seriously, and no work is ever done.) So now that this election is done, and everything is as clear as mud on both sides of the Irish Sea, if May forms a Government consisting of the DUP theres absolutely no way the Republicans are going to accept the UK's legitimacy as an arbitrar. So we're likely to see at least one more election in the north, possibly another election across Britain, and the contract is unlikely to be signed until next year at the earliest. Fortunately I can work around it, it wasn't my bread and butter, but there are other businesses that rely on public sector contracts to stay afloat that are certainly going through a hard time right now. It's a strange old country.
