I get it. What a prick he must be for accepting a job probably paying a £1m or more a year with added bonuses for getting it right. And all he's got to do is put eleven good larkers on the pitch at the same time. Anyone could do it.
We are delighted to announce Leonid Slutsky as our new Head Coach. The 46-year-old former Head Coach of the Russian national team and title-winner with CSKA Moscow will arrive in Hull next week (subject to international clearance) with preparation for the 2017/18 season already well underway. Speaking about the appointment, Vice-Chairman Ehab Allam said: “I am delighted to welcome Leonid as our new Head Coach. After a thorough recruitment process, Leonid’s attention to detail, thoughts on playing style and his ambition made him the stand-out candidate. “The Club has made plans for pre-season training and friendlies, with some exciting fixtures to be announced next week, and squad planning with Leonid is already underway. Leonid has enjoyed success at both club and international level and I am excited about his plans for guiding us back towards the Premier League.” Having seen his playing career ended by injury as a teenager, Slutsky eventually moved into coaching and took over as Head Coach of FC Moscow in 2005. He then moved on to Krylia Sovetov where he spent almost two years before being appointed Head Coach of CSKA Moscow in 2009. He guided CSKA to three Russian Premier League titles before resigning last December. During his time with CSKA, Slutsky was also appointed Head Coach of the Russian national side and guided his country to the finals of Euro 2016 before stepping down last summer. Slutsky is now looking forward to starting work at the KCOM Stadium, saying: “I am delighted to become the Head Coach of Hull City and I am very much looking forward to the challenge of guiding the Club back to the Premier League. “I already know that this is an important Club with a big and loyal fanbase, I’ve had a good feeling about it ever since meeting the Allam family and I can’t wait to get started next week.” The Club will look to make further additions to the coaching staff to assist Leonid in due course.
Maybe it's a secret admission of our name being Hull City Association Football Club. Nah, they're just not fans of proof reading.
Rather than a proofing issue, the fact that the cap it every ****ing time suggests someone thinks it's correct.
I'm glad we got someone early. I'm pleasantly surprised its someone with a decent track record and a point to prove/name to make in England. I've a funny feeling he might be given a decent(ish) budget to spend. I hope he does his business early and spends his money well on a squad to battle out of the Championship.
This however is not such good news perhaps.... The Club will look to make further additions to the coaching staff to assist Leonid in due course. Is he going to doing everything..?
I'm actually quite excited by this appointment. Given the links with Chelski we might be able to take some players on loan/buy their fringe players at "mates rates". All the best Leonid, and credit where credit is due, well done the club for a swift and exciting appointment. It does not detract from everything else, but well done on this occasion.
I am not too excited - since being appointed he has not won a single point yet, home or away. Come back Marco.
who knows how he'll do, but ex manager of national team and cska moscow, a team in champions league, that'll do for me.
I don't really have any feelings either way , don't know a lot about him and not going to pretend I do ... Going to see how he does with interest , can see it being either a massive success with promotion or an awful failure with him getting sacked at Xmas , no middle ground , the Hull City way
