True but a 'progressive alliance' of lab, Lib, snp, could force may's hand in parliament.

This is on a knife edge. Tories drop a couple more and it's progressive alliance time.

Still don't don't trust it. Mainly because of the SNP figure.

Looking at this stage like it could be a disasterous evening for the tories :)

Nothing would make me happier. However, this exit poll is beyong my wildest dreams and I'm finding it very hard to believe. I remember feeling fairly comfortable at this point in the night of the referendum and then getting more and more depressed as the night went on. The same thing happened in the US elections. Hope I'm wrong, but I'm expecting it to turn into bad news before the night is out.

76 seats that are to close to call which makes it very difficult to judge. Suspect tories will do a bit better in England and SNP better as well .

Still think Tory majority is probable despite the exit poll

It's too tight to call at the moment. I hope it gets worse for the tories as the night goes on.

Seems a lot, I agree. But it also seems that the appetite for independence has waned despite Sturgeon's strident urgings. Probably something to do with a substantially declined oil price too.

Their major raison d'etre is independence. And if you, as a voter, are no longer so keen on that idea!......

BBC reporting that the votes in Newcastle and Sunderland are suggesting that the swing from Tories to Labour is only 2% -3.5% not the 7% that the exit poll (jointly produced by BBC, ITV and Sky) .
They are also saying that these are safe Labour seats and are only two seats so it'll take 2 or 3 hours for a real pattern to show up.

Sun claiming exit poll is wrong...apparently "senior Tories have been crunching their figures and it just simply doesn't add up"

Maybe, but people have discounted how pissed off the elderly are, traditional elderly Tory voters are looking at independents now, they're very unhappy, their savings have plummeted and whatever is left is being taken thanks to the Tories social care bill.

Those first two results suggest that the exit polls aren't as accurate as predicted. But the safe seats may not be as indicative as the battleground seats. It's too early to tell yet ....

The fact is though that senior Tories have the same sort of data as the pollsters at this stage. They will be in as much of a wait and see situation as the rest of us.

The election coverage so far has been like listening to Michael Owen and Owen Hargreaves commentating on Stoke v West Brom in a last game of the season dead end game!

Amber Rudd seat in Hastings looking shakey for her. Would be a massive scalp if labour take that seat.
