Right, so we've signed an attacker, a midfielder and a goalkeeper. I reckon that's us done for this window, what say you guys?
The window doesn't even ****ing open for another three weeks, yet we already have three new signings, are some people stupid or what?
Yes Please!! Johnny wants out, Hopefully Dorrans will move on. We need to inject something into the centre of the pitch. He's experienced, about 6'2, can play attack or defensive midfield. Good passer of the ball. likes a long shot. Should add to our creativity and add experience to our young squad. 5th highest Key Passes player in the Bundesliga last season. I'm excited about that. If we can keep Pritchard, then we should have some really quality creativity and service to strikers.
We're certainly getting business done, and efficiently, which seems like a change to previous windows. Only time will tell whether it's good business! Hopefully some defensive pieces of the jigsaw fall into place sooner rather than later, if only to relax a few people!
I like the sound and look of Marley, I think he will run some defenses ragged. Don't know about Gunn as a 1st choice Keeper (if that what he's brought in for) but Man City really rate him. Over all, the 3 signings so far I think are really positive, and It's starting to make me a bit more excited for next Season. I think we have had basically the same squad for so many seasons, It really feels like a fresh start. Even if that doesn't mean Promotion, it does make it more interesting and exciting if we continue this transfer policy. Just feels like we are going to freshen things up and try something different.
We'll all be singing Christmas carols next season what with Jacob and Marley, hopefully we can ghost to the title!
This is such a change from previous windows where we have farted and fannied around. OK - time will tell if these are good signings or not but the fact we are out there doing business and not just thinking about it is a good statement of intent as far as I am concerned. OTBC !
Apparently there has been several German based players looking around the club in the past week, there may still be signings to come. Julian Borner, was one of these players, but he has rejected the contract offer as he wants to stay in Germany after the very recent birth of his child.
Still months to go, we don't need to sign players in the order that they are required! I am sure we are looking at defenders, but perhaps we need to generate some funds "sell to buy" to get some properly good defenders in!
Agreed we need defenders but Vrancic looks like a quality buy who will definitely be needed if (as expected) Howson and Dorrans leave. The actual window opens in three weeks time so anything we do before then must be seen as good business.
Vrancic is left-footed, so would seem to be a natural replacement for Dorrans in CM. He can also play WL and at AM and he's a threat with free-kicks. Sounds a reasonable signing to me with money and wages saved from Dorrans moving on.
