Is it not more of a case that england have a decent though not exciting head coach and a few good players?

I mean we've been freaking awful in u21s for a long time due to southgates and pearces being inflicted on us.

you've a career coach who's not there to get experience but to get results. and there's a final... oh... who'd have thought competance would work eh?

 

Who knows, but SP and GS have managed to get to the latter stages of tournaments and have been unlucky....maybe the quality of player/setup at the time wasn't ideal. Now SGP looks to be rewarding the investment in players and coaches

I thought he got the equaliser then an added extra - Lukaku gets the add ons not the important ones - so nothing like him at all really ...

 

who knows... I don't rate either but am not going to big up paul simpson really.

I do think the higher the qualifications of all coaches the better. look at LFC singing the praises of linders and he's only going and doing his pro licence now. Bit mad that given we handed future of youth to him at various levels or gerrard who is only learning his way and is u18 manager now.

the better the coaches it stands to reason the better the players. I would still like the league to allow in b teams though.. the more competitive the games at u23 level the better the outcomes will be.

Simpson and the team at SGP have taken the group away, prepared them at the level to get used to what will happen. Play teams outside of the regular european run of teams.

 

I think your reasoning's all to pot. The equaliser and added extra were from the same man - that's definitely not a Lukaku as he wouldn't have started the scoring process off in the first place

yes that england... and what about the 20 prem clubs. scraping up games is next to nigh on impossible at times for u23s.
